D.A. Davidson Expands Capital Advisory Capabilities with the Addition of Tim Meyer and Ted Speyer

Senior hires strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver financing solutions across the full capital structure, from growth-stage equity to sponsor-backed transactions.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D.A. Davidson & Co. today announced the expansion of its Capital Advisory Group with the additions of Tim Meyer and Ted Speyer as Managing Directors, deepening the firm's ability to serve clients across private capital solutions and the financial sponsor ecosystem. Meyer will lead the firm’s Private Placements effort while Speyer will focus on sponsor coverage across the East Coast.

"Tim and Ted bring highly complementary capabilities that strengthen our ability to serve clients across the full spectrum of advisory and capital markets needs," said Rory McKinney, President of Equity Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson. "The continued expansion of our Capital Advisory capabilities reflects our commitment to investing in senior talent and delivering differentiated solutions to clients—and their financial sponsors—throughout every stage of the company lifecycle."

Meyer will work with clients across a broad range of offerings—including venture and growth equity, structured and hybrid capital, project equity, recapitalizations, and other strategic transactions. In close collaboration with the firm's Debt Advisory and Financial Sponsors teams, he will broaden access to flexible financing solutions for clients and their portfolio companies across the capital structure. Meyer brings more than 25 years of industry experience and has completed over 170 financings spanning venture and growth equity, project equity, and recapitalizations. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, he served as Managing Director and Head of Private Equity Placements at TD Cowen, where he built the firm's private placements platform into a leading franchise focused on emerging growth companies. He previously held senior leadership roles at Marathon Capital, BMO Capital Markets, and ING Barings.

Speyer joins D.A. Davidson's Financial Sponsors Group, part of the firm's Capital Advisory Group, where he will focus on managing relationships with private equity firms and supporting sponsor-backed transactions across the East Coast. Speyer brings more than 16 years of investment banking experience advising financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, debt advisory, valuation, and exit strategies. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, he launched the financial sponsors coverage franchise at Stout Investment Banking and previously held positions within the Global Financial Sponsors Group and Industry Groups at RBC Capital Markets.

"Joining D.A. Davidson provides a unique opportunity to leverage the firm's broad platform and collaborative culture to deliver a wider range of capital solutions to clients," said Meyer.

"D.A. Davidson has built a differentiated middle-market platform with differentiated industry expertise and deep sponsor relationships," said Speyer. "I look forward to helping expand the firm's reach within the financial sponsor community and creating additional opportunities for clients across the platform."

The additions of Meyer and Speyer reflect D.A. Davidson's continued investment in expanding its investment banking and capital markets capabilities, strengthening connectivity across its Capital Advisory Group—spanning Private Placements, Financial Sponsors, and Debt Advisory—alongside Capital Markets. The firm has continued to add senior talent across key growth areas as it expands coverage, advisory capabilities, and access to strategic capital solutions for middle-market clients.

D.A. Davidson's Investment Banking Division is a leading full-service investment bank that offers comprehensive financial advisory and capital markets expertise. The group has extensive transaction experience serving middle-market clients worldwide across four industry verticals: Consumer, Diversified Industrials, Financial Institutions, and Technology.
