HarbourView Equity Partners Announces Strategic Partnership With GRAMMY-nominated Producer David Kershenbaum

Partnership Includes Producer Royalties from Recordings Including Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” and Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out”

As part of the transaction, HarbourView has acquired Kershenbaum's interest in producer royalties and related rights across master recordings, including Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," "Baby Can I Hold You," and "Talkin' Bout a Revolution," Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out" and "Is She Really Going Out With Him," Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis," and numerous other works. The partnership further expands HarbourView's growing portfolio of music assets.

His work has earned four GRAMMY nominations, including Producer of the Year, with credits including Tracy Chapman's self-titled debut and Crossroads, to Joe Jackson's albums including Look Sharp!, Night and Day and Body and Soul, Marc Cohn's self-titled debut featuring "Walking in Memphis," Bryan Adams' global hit "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You," and Duran Duran's Rio.

The partnership includes Kershenbaum’s interest in producer royalties and master recordings, including Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," "Baby Can I Hold You," "Talkin' Bout a Revolution," "She's Got Her Ticket" and "Crossroads," Joe Jackson's "Steppin' Out," "Is She Really Going Out With Him" and "Breaking Us in Two," Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis," Gallagher & Lyle's "I Wanna Stay with You," and numerous other works. Luke Combs' recent rendition of Chapman’s "Fast Car" and Chapman's return to the GRAMMY Awards stage, brought renewed attention to the song and Kershenbaum's work as its producer. About David Kershenbaum

David Kershenbaum is a multi-platinum, Grammy Nominated, Oscar-nominated music producer from Springfield, Missouri. He began his career as a musician before moving into production, launching his producing career while working at a local advertising agency, where he convinced the firm to build a recording studio.

Over the course of his career, Kershenbaum worked with a range of artists across three major labels. At A&M Records, he produced Joan Baez’s Diamonds & Rust and Joe Jackson’s Night and Day, which earned two Grammy nominations and featured the Top 10 single “Steppin’ Out.” As Vice President of A&R, he signed artists including Bryan Adams and Janet Jackson, while his production credits also included Supertramp, Peter Frampton and Cat Stevens. At Elektra Records, Kershenbaum produced Tracy Chapman’s self-titled debut album, which sold more than 7 million copies, won three Grammy Awards and featured “Fast Car.” He went on to work with Chapman on the albums Crossroads and Telling Stories. At Capitol Records, he remixed Duran Duran’s Rio for the American market, contributing to the album’s U.S. release and the success of “Hungry Like the Wolf.” Kershenbaum later served as Co-President of Morgan Creek Music Group, where he executive produced Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” which achieved significant global commercial success following its 1991 release.

Beyond his work as a producer and record executive, Kershenbaum developed music ventures that included five recording studios, a film music supervision company and a music publishing house. He also co-created Raiding the Rock Vault, a theatrical rock production in Las Vegas.
