A Three-week Task Now Takes 20 Minutes: Kansas City Firm Cuts Demand Prep 99% and Case Time in Half Using AI

Firm says it can now take on 100 more cases a year with the same team

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A legal demand that used to take three weeks to draft now takes 20 minutes, according to Nash & Franciskato Law Firm.

The firm handles personal injury and mass tort cases, including defective hip and knee implants, with three attorneys and four paralegals. Growing caseloads meant growing risk of missing a treatment gap buried in records, or a deadline. EvenUp's AI, the firm says, has erased that risk while speeding nearly every stage of a case.

The results, per the firm:

  • 99% reduction in time to prepare a demand: from three weeks to 20 minutes
  • 50% faster case resolution: intake-to-settlement time dropped from eight-plus months to four
  • 40x faster medical record review

"It might have taken me hours and hours of work piecing together the client's treatment history to find the gap in treatment," said Amanda Cryderman, the firm's lead mass tort paralegal. "EvenUp was able to find it almost instantly."

Mass tort paperwork that took weeks now takes hours. Companion™ and Mirror Mode cut time on plaintiff profile forms and fact sheets, some 30 pages per client, to 1-2 hours from 1-2 weeks.

Partner Brian Franciskato says the speed changes how referral partners see the firm: "When we can turn around cases faster with EvenUp, our referral partners are more inclined to refer our firm new business," he said.

He estimates the firm can now take on 100 more cases a year, volume he calls "impossible" without the technology. The firm has recommended EvenUp to other firms, including a high-volume workers' comp practice.

"I would definitely recommend EvenUp to all of my colleagues," Franciskato said.
