The Emily Program to Join Minnesota Mental Health Organizations at 2026 Minnesota State Fair
Eating disorder treatment provider will connect fairgoers with resources and information to help break the stigma surrounding eating disorders and mental health
ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Emily Program, a national leader in eating disorder treatment and recovery, will participate in the ninth annual Mental Health Awareness at the Minnesota State Fair on Monday, August 31, joining dozens of Minnesota mental health organizations to connect fairgoers with resources, education, and support. With one in nine Minnesotans experiencing an eating disorder in their lifetime, the organization aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide vital connections to care for individuals and families in need.
“Eating disorders affect people of every age, gender, size and background, yet stigma and misconceptions continue to prevent many people from recognizing that they or someone they love may need help."

Hosted at Dan Patch Park near the State Fair Grandstand from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mental Health Awareness at the Minnesota State Fair brings together organizations from across Minnesota to promote mental health awareness and connect Minnesotans with resources that support recovery. The event is presented by the Minnesota State Advisory Council on Mental Health and Subcommittee on Children’s Mental Health in partnership with NAMI Minnesota.
As an exhibitor, The Emily Program will provide fairgoers with information about eating disorders, body image, and recovery, while offering an opportunity to learn more about recognizing the signs of an eating disorder and how to seek support.
“Eating disorders affect people of every age, gender, size and background, yet stigma and misconceptions continue to prevent many people from recognizing that they or someone they love may need help. Recovery requires support. Trying to fight it alone only prolongs the illness,” said Jillian Lampert, PhD, MPH, RD, LD, FAED, Vice President of Strategy and Public Affairs at The Emily Program.
The Emily Program’s participation comes as conversations around mental health increasingly recognize the connection between mental and physical well-being. Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions that can have significant physical consequences, and early recognition and access to appropriate treatment can play an important role in recovery.
The event is open to Minnesota State Fair attendees and will take place at Dan Patch Park on Monday, August 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
