Notability Now Lets Users Capture And Organize Notes Via Their Calendar

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ginger Labs, Inc., the developer behind Notability, the award-winning note-taking app, today introduced a new feature that automatically captures and turns every note into a recording and organizes those notes around the user's calendar. The capability is available today on Windows and Mac desktops, and is designed to optimize performance for each platform. Tablet and phone releases will follow at a later date.

Building on Notability’s more than 10 years of building technology to capture audio, the feature pairs effortless recording with calendar-native organization in a single workflow. This makes work easier for time-constrained students and professionals, many of whom find themselves in back-to-back lectures and meetings, with little time to absorb fresh material as it’s generated. The capture-and-organize feature eliminates this friction, helping users optimize their schedule and spend more time mastering content.

Students and professionals connect their calendar, and when they tap a meeting recording starts and the note opens, ready for input. At the end of the meeting, Notability combines the call’s transcript and any typed notes that were taken during the meeting into one comprehensive note.

So students can capture their critical lectures on anything from economics to political science without missing anything important, and professional knowledge workers can engage in essential strategy meetings and review their notes later to see what they might have missed.

How Notability Now Separates From The Competition

This marks the first time a digital note-taking service has paired the effortless capture user experience with calendar-native organization within the same workflow, fulfilling two key requirements for ensuring seamless AI note-taking.

While other note-taking apps use API-integrated bots that require building or maintaining separate integrations for each platform, Notability’s system audio capture capabilities access the computer's microphone and audio output directly, with no bot joining the call as a participant to see recordings.
