HighByte Releases Agentic Configuration for Industrial DataOps

New Modeling Agent and MCP Configuration Tools in HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 enable teams to contextualize industrial data faster, with natural language

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HighByte®, an industrial software company, today announced the general availability of HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5, which includes:

  • Agentic configuration capabilities for contextualizing industrial data
  • A new Data Lineage Graph for tracing relationships across project configuration
  • Improved AVEVA PI System integration performance
  • Broadened support for the i3X industrial API standard
  • Stronger enterprise deployment capabilities

Contextualization remains the largest lift for manufacturers implementing Industrial DataOps to make their data AI-ready. The context needed to make sense of this industrial data is spread across systems that range in age and design, with similar assets and processes often represented differently from one plant to the next.

HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 bridges these silos with the new Modeling Agent, an in-app agent that connects to a user's large language model service of choice and assists with browsing connections and creating and editing Inputs, Models, and Instances through natural language. Users can import supporting documents to provide context and review and approve each change before it takes effect, keeping human judgment in the loop at every step.

For teams building with external agents, version 4.5 also expands the MCP Configuration Tools beyond Pipelines to Connections, Models, and Instances. Configuration schemas are now available as MCP tools and as downloadable files, giving agents the context needed to generate accurate project configuration on a user's behalf.

Executive Quote
“Agentic AI is only as good as the context behind it, and building that context has historically required scarce, specialized expertise. The Modeling Agent and our expanded MCP Configuration Tools give human users and external agents a faster path to accurate, well-modeled industrial data, with human review built into every step. Combined with the Data Lineage Graph, version 4.5 provides the ability to build context quickly with the visibility to trust it.”
— John Harrington, Chief Product Officer at HighByte

How does the Intelligence Hub support data lineage?
As teams contextualize data from more systems and grow more reliant on it, understanding where data originates and what depends on it becomes critical. Version 4.5 introduces the Data Lineage Graph, a graph database-backed representation of the relationships between configured objects in the Intelligence Hub, explorable as a visual graph, a tabular view, or through the MCP Server.

Users can ask in natural language where a given value originates, and the agent will traverse the graph to return an answer. This turns troubleshooting and impact analysis from a manual review of configuration into a direct question and answer.

What additional capabilities are included with version 4.5?
Version 4.5 also adds an i3X Client alongside the existing i3X Server, giving organizations a standards-based way to both publish and consume industrial data over the CESMII-developed API standard. Additional updates include Parquet serialization and caching improvements for the AVEVA PI System connection to speed high-volume data movement, and enterprise deployment improvements spanning Identity and Access Management, OpenTelemetry observability, high availability, and Git-based configuration management.

When can I access version 4.5?
HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 is available now. All new features and capabilities introduced in version 4.5 are included in standard pricing. Please contact HighByte or an authorized distributor to start a trial or purchase a subscription license.
