A First for COR Auditing: AuditSoft Launches AI Assistant

The AuditSoft AI Assistant drafts audit findings in seconds, while keeping professional judgment where it belongs, with the auditor.

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AuditSoft, the industry leader in digital audit and compliance software, has announced the launch of the AuditSoft AI Assistant, the first tool of its kind built specifically to enhance Certificate of Recognition (COR) auditing. The Assistant helps auditors produce professionally-written findings faster, while staying in full control of the audit.

"The AI Assistant handles the drafting so auditors can stay focused on applying their expertise to keep workplaces safe." - Ben Snyman, CEO, AuditSoft

COR auditing has long carried an administrative burden. Once the evidence is gathered and the scoring is done, findings still have to be written up clearly, consistently, and in line with each certifying body’s and safety association's requirements. That writing is time-consuming, pulling focus that could otherwise go to evaluating evidence and assessing risk.

Auditors are already using AI, often turning to general-purpose AI chatbots outside the audit workflow to help draft findings. This can result in sensitive workplace information being entered into tools that were not designed, approved, or configured for COR auditing. The AuditSoft AI Assistant was built to solve that, giving auditors the tools they need without putting data at risk. Information processed by the Assistant stays secure within the AuditSoft environment, is never used to train AI models, and is never retained after processing.

Unlike general-purpose AI chatbots the AI Assistant drafts findings only from the auditor's own inputs: their answers, collected evidence, scoring methodology, and the requirements of their certifying body or safety association. Where those inputs appear incomplete or insufficient to support a finding, the Assistant can flag the gap and prompt the auditor to review what may still need to be addressed. It does not gather, create, or manufacture evidence. The auditor then reviews, edits, and approves every finding before it becomes part of the record. Nothing is finalized without the auditor's sign-off. It's AuditSoft's guiding principle of human-in-the-loop AI: AI recommends. Auditor decides.

"AI should support professional judgment, not replace it," said Ben Snyman, CEO of AuditSoft. "The value of a COR audit is in the work behind it. Gathering and weighing the evidence, identifying gaps, and supporting continuous improvement to protect people. The writing shouldn't take away from that. The AI Assistant handles the drafting so auditors can stay focused on applying their expertise to keep workplaces safe."

The launch of the AuditSoft AI Assistant builds on AuditSoft's position as Canada's most trusted solution for COR auditing and analysis, and the only Audit Lifecycle Management (ALM) software to support COR auditing end-to-end. The company processes more than 6,500 audits each year and partners with 20+ leading certifying bodies and associations. The Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP) is among the first to roll out the AI Assistant to members.

“AI is already part of the auditing landscape, so the responsible response is not to ignore it, but to put clear guardrails around its use,” said Ray Gaetz, CEO of AASP. “AI must not gather or invent evidence, and it cannot assume an auditor’s professional responsibility. The auditor remains accountable for every finding and must be able to support every statement in the final report with evidence. AuditSoft gives auditors a practical way to benefit from AI-assisted drafting while keeping evidence, professional judgment and accountability exactly where they belong, with the auditor.”

By bringing AI into the audit workflow in a measured, transparent way, AuditSoft is setting a new standard for how technology and professional expertise can work together to improve outcomes in OHS. With it, AuditSoft moves the industry from asking whether to use AI to showing how to use it responsibly. It's the first step in a wider roadmap of AI tools planned for the platform.
