The Finish Line Is a World Where No One Dies of Breast Cancer

Susan G. Komen® Nationwide Fall Event Season Unites Communities to Fund Research, Improve Access to High-Quality Care and Save Lives; Andy Grammer to Headline Second Annual Party in Pink Gala on October 14th

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced its fall calendar, bringing the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®, Race for the Cure® , MORE THAN PINK Walk® and signature fundraising events to communities across the country. At a time when someone in the U.S. dies from breast cancer every 12 minutes, these events will unite thousands of survivors, those living with metastatic breast cancer, families, caregivers and supporters with one shared purpose: helping create a world where no one dies from breast cancer.

This is a critical moment in the history of the fight against breast cancer. Despite decades of progress, it remains one of the nation's most urgent health challenges. One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and incidence is rising among women under age 50. Black women continue to face a nearly 40% higher breast cancer mortality rate than white women in the U.S., underscoring the urgent need to eliminate disparities in access to timely, high-quality care.

"We've made tremendous progress against breast cancer, but progress alone isn't enough when families continue to lose loved ones every day," said Victoria Smart, senior vice president of mission, Susan G. Komen. "Too many people still face barriers to timely, high-quality care, and metastatic breast cancers continue to take far too many lives. Together, we can change that by investing in research, expanding access to care and empowering more people to take action.”

As part of this year's event season, Komen is launching a bold new campaign encouraging Breast Honesty™ — empowering people to have open conversations about breast health, including understanding their personal risk of breast cancer, prioritizing recommended screenings and advocating for timely, high-quality breast care for everyone, because no one should die from breast cancer.

"Our determination to end breast cancer deaths is unwavering because we know it's possible," said Smart. "The research shows that with continued investment in science, equitable access to quality care and collective action, we can save more lives. Every person who registers, donates, volunteers or shows up at a Komen event helps fuel groundbreaking research, provides critical support for people facing breast cancer today and advance policies that improve access to care. Together, we have the power to create a future where no one dies from breast cancer.”

Andy Grammer Headlines Party in Pink

Multi-platinum, Emmy Award-winning artist and acclaimed songwriter Andy Grammer will be headlining the New York City Second Annual Party in Pink Gala on October 14. The gala is Komen's largest opportunity for corporate leaders and philanthropists to commit critical support for people facing breast cancer today and in the future. His performance comes just two days before the release of his sixth studio album, Big Stupid Heart.

“This event means so much to me because breast cancer awareness isn’t just a cause I care about, it’s deeply personal to me," Grammer said. "I lost my mother to it, and I know firsthand how much strength and hope can mean to the people facing this disease. I’m honored to perform at the Party in Pink Gala, with Susan G. Komen, in support of the women and families affected by this.”

Funds raised through the 2026 event season support Komen's comprehensive approach to ending breast cancer by advancing breakthrough research, providing critical patient support, advocating for equitable access to high-quality care and addressing disparities that impact outcomes. Since its founding, Komen has invested more than $3.5 billion in research, patient support and advocacy, contributing to more than 4,200 scientific discoveries. Komen-funded research has played a role in 31 of the 32 FDA-approved breast cancer drugs developed over the past 30 years and has supported more than 600 clinical trials.

The 2026 MORE THAN PINK Walk® and Race for the Cure® event series is made possible through the generous support of Bank of America, the National Presenting Sponsor; Natera, the National Premier Sponsor; and National Series Sponsors Daiichi Sankyo, Guardant Health, Lilly and Novartis. Their commitment, together with thousands of participants, volunteers and donors nationwide, helps drive Komen's mission to save lives by investing in groundbreaking research, supporting patients and advocating for equitable access to high-quality breast care.
