Saragon was established following I Squared’s acquisition of ten data center facilities from Cogent Fiber, LLC, a subsidiary of Cogent Communications Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CCOI). The portfolio spans Chicago, Atlanta, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Baltimore, Houston, Nashville, and Stockton with approximately 53 megawatts of installed power capacity and 259,000 square feet of colocation space. Together, these markets serve a combined population of more than 63 million people, positioning Saragon’s infrastructure close to the enterprises, networks and end users driving demand for low-latency computing.

Saragon is positioned for a fundamental shift in the digital infrastructure landscape. As artificial intelligence moves from the training of models toward widespread deployment and everyday use, a growing share of computing demand is expected to move closer to population centers and end users. Saragon’s facilities combine high-density-enabled power infrastructure, liquid-cooling capabilities and dense, multi-carrier fiber connectivity, including proximity to local internet exchanges, to support AI inference and other latency-sensitive workloads.

The portfolio also offers a scarce combination of location, power and connectivity in metropolitan markets where new data center supply is increasingly constrained. All ten facilities are purpose-built data centers, owned out-right with room for expansion, giving Saragon a strong foundation from which to add capacity as customer requirements grow.

Saragon will be led by Chief Executive Officer Steve Orlando, who joins from Seaborn Networks, where he spent nearly six years as CEO of the operator of Seabras-1, the subsea cable system connecting Brazil and the United States. Alongside him, Kevin Dalton has been appointed President and brings more than 30 years of data center development experience most recently serving as Chief Data Center Officer at Cumulus Data, a division of Talen Energy.

“Demand for edge capacity is accelerating across everything we do — retail, enterprise, and wholesale colocation alike — as businesses of every kind bring compute closer to their users,” said Steve Orlando, Chief Executive Officer of Saragon. “AI inference is the newest driver, but the same fundamentals power content delivery, hybrid cloud, and mission-critical enterprise workloads. With a launch footprint spanning nine major markets across the country and the backing of I Squared Capital, Saragon is built to deliver that capacity where our customers need it most.”

Saragon will pursue a multi-faceted growth strategy, expanding capacity through targeted investment, customer led expansion and additional acquisitions, both within its existing markets and by entering new edge locations across the United States. The company will serve customers across the full spectrum of colocation requirements, including retail colocation for single-cabinet deployments, enterprise colocation for mission-critical corporate infrastructure, and wholesale colocation for customers requiring dedicated, large-scale capacity. Saragon will also support high-density and liquid-cooled deployments and interconnection-rich environments for AI inference, content delivery, and hybrid-cloud workloads.
