Fifth Third's Jeanie® Named Best Chatbot by Tearsheet AI Innovation Awards

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fifth Third (NYSE: FITB) has been recognized by the 2026 Tearsheet AI Innovation Awards, earning the Best Chatbot Award for Jeanie®, the Bank’s AI-powered banking assistant within its mobile app. The award recognizes Jeanie's measurable customer impact, innovative use of artificial intelligence and role in advancing a more intuitive, conversational banking experience.

The Tearsheet AI Innovation Awards recognize financial services companies using artificial intelligence to improve customer experience, drive operational excellence and shape the future of financial services. Jeanie was selected for its measurable customer impact, innovation and vision for more intuitive banking experiences.

Fifth Third’s award-winning mobile app serves more than 2.4 million monthly users and supports more than 1 billion digital interactions each year. Jeanie sits at the center of that experience, helping customers complete more than 150 banking needs through natural-language interactions. Since launch, Jeanie has increased intent recognition accuracy from approximately 20% to approximately 90% and increased self-service containment from 3% to 42%, helping customers resolve needs more quickly while reducing servicing costs.

"At Fifth Third, we believe banking should be as simple as having a conversation," said Jude Schramm, Chief Information Officer at Fifth Third. "Jeanie allows customers to interact with the Bank using their own words, whether they're looking to replace a card, transfer funds or get help from a banker. This recognition from Tearsheet validates our strategy of using AI to solve real customer needs today while building toward a more intuitive, personalized banking experience in the future."

Fifth Third has continued to expand Jeanie's capabilities, enabling Spanish-language recognition, self-service support and broadening conversational experiences. Today, customers can quickly accomplish common banking tasks such as replacing a debit card, finding an ATM, sending money, or connecting with a banker without navigating multiple menus or screens.

The award also recognizes Fifth Third's broader vision for the future of banking. Trained on insights from millions of customer interactions and informed by millions of digital engagements, Jeanie continues to learn and improve over time. The platform serves as a key building block in the Bank's journey toward agentic banking.
