Hazeltree appoints Remy W. Trafelet as Chief Executive Officer and makes significant additions to its leadership team

NEW YORK & LONDON & HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hazeltree, the leading provider of financial treasury management and networked data solutions to the alternative asset management industry, appointed the company’s Executive Chairman, Remy W. Trafelet, as Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Lokesh Seth. Hazeltree thanks Mr. Seth and acknowledges his significant contributions to the company during his tenure.

Mr. Trafelet founded Hazeltree within his alternative asset management firm, Trafelet Delta Funds, prior to spinning the company out in 2011. In late 2024, Mr. Trafelet returned to active management at the company as Executive Chairman, leading Hazeltree’s renewed focus on the firm’s treasury value proposition and data networking capabilities. Mr. Trafelet has held roles as the Managing Partner of both Trafelet Delta Funds, a global hedge fund, and Trafelet & Company, a private investment firm, and as a Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Hazeltree’s strong financial position and balance sheet strength allowed the company to recently announce a special dividend to shareholders, returning the capital invested in its 2024 equity financing.

Hazeltree is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Jessica Segarra as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Mrs. Segarra has extensive operational experience in alternative asset management and extraordinary domain expertise, having previously served as the Global Head of Operations at Schoenfeld Strategic Advisors Management and as Deputy Head of Operations at Balyasny Asset Management. As Hazeltree’s Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Segarra will focus on working directly with the firm’s existing client base and on continued operational efficiencies.

Additionally, Hazeltree welcomes Mr. Martin Koopman as its Chief Product Officer. Previously, Mr. Koopman served as Chief Product Officer and Co-Head of AI at Broadridge, and before that as Broadridge’s Head of Strategy and Product Innovation. As a key member of Broadridge’s leadership team, Mr. Koopman led the global product organization, driving enterprise product strategy, platform unification, and AI innovation. Hazeltree welcomes Mr. Koopman’s extensive domain and product development expertise, as well as his leadership in AI implementation.

Mr. Trafelet commented, “These accomplished executives further enhance Hazeltree’s leadership ranks. As a former Hazeltree client and alternative asset management executive, Jessica brings significant value to Hazeltree’s existing client base and internal operations. Martin’s extensive product development leadership and AI expertise will continue to enhance Hazeltree’s value proposition and performance for its hedge fund and private equity clients.”

With these additions, Hazeltree is poised to continue to grow its performance-enhancing treasury management solutions, networked data offerings, and AI capabilities for hedge funds, private markets, and asset management firms.
