Rachel Lanier Named to Law360’s List of Rising Stars for Her Trial Practice

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rachel Lanier, Managing Attorney of the Los Angeles office for The Lanier Law Firm, has been named to Law360’s Rising Stars for 2026, recognizing her leadership role in trials representing plaintiffs in several high-profile matters, particularly in multidistrict litigation. As a key participant on the firm’s social media addiction trial team, Ms. Lanier is at the forefront of the fight to hold social media companies accountable for their harmful features. In the first bellwether trial against social media giants Meta and YouTube, tried earlier this year in Los Angeles, the team secured a jury verdict of $3 million in compensatory damages and $3 million in punitive damages against the companies for the mental and physical harm to the single unnamed plaintiff. Ms. Lanier also serves as co-lead counsel in California’s Judicial Council Coordinated Proceedings for social media addiction cases, which is currently coordinating hundreds of claims that involve common issues of fact or law.

Recognized as one of Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers and named to the Best Lawyers in America for Mass Tort and Personal Injury Litigation, Ms. Lanier has been honored as a Top 40 under 40 Civil Plaintiff Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers and has been selected nine times as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in New York and California. A native Houstonian, Ms. Lanier received her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University and her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in New York, where she served as a legal advocate for domestic abuse victims through the Domestic Violence Litigation Clinic. She also worked as a teaching fellow for Dean Michael A. Simons, and was a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellent Service for her extensive pro bono work.
