Kentucky High Schools Using Math Nation+ Increase Proficiency Rates on Kentucky Summative Assessment

Independent study from the University of Kentucky finds that higher usage of Accelerate Learning’s Math Nation+ program is associated with stronger outcomes

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kentucky high schools that used Math Nation+ for 10^th grade math instruction saw significant increases in proficiency rates on the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) in Mathematics from 2024 to 2025, according to an independent study from the University of Kentucky. In addition, schools with higher Math Nation+ usage saw greater gains.

The study, which included more than 200 high schools statewide, examined changes in 10th grade mathematics performance on the KSA from 2024 to 2025. In Math Nation+ schools, the percentage of students performing at the Proficient and Distinguished levels rose from 35.74% to 41.04%, an increase of 5.3 percentage points. During the same period, the percentage of students at the Novice and Apprentice levels dropped from 63.47% to 58.29%, a decline of 5.18 percentage points.

The study also examined the relationship between the depth and consistency of Math Nation+ use and student performance. In 2024-25, schools with high usage of Math Nation+ had Proficient rates that were 12.2 percentage points higher than those of low-usage schools.
