MissionSquare launches Income America 5forLife® for retirement plans

With 40% of public sector workers prioritizing guaranteed retirement income, eligible plans now meet demand with a new in‑plan option

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MissionSquare announced today the activation of Income America 5forLife®, its retirement income solution designed to help retirement plan participants convert a portion of their hard-earned retirement savings into predictable, guaranteed lifetime income. The solution is now available to eligible MissionSquare‑administered plans, offering a lifetime income-focused option alongside traditional investments for participants approaching and entering retirement.

The activation of 5ForLife comes at a time when MissionSquare research shows that 40% of public sector workers rank access to an investment that offers a guaranteed income stream in retirement as the fourth most important factor in bolstering their retirement readiness—behind higher wages or salary, better retirement benefits (i.e., employer matches), and improved health care benefits in retirement.1

To support this demand, 5forLife’s activation reflects MissionSquare’s continued focus on supporting individuals not only as they save but as they prepare to use their savings to generate income and help manage longevity risk.

“Planning for retirement requires more than just accumulation; it takes thoughtful solutions that help individuals turn savings into income they can count on,” said Jeff Gibson, chief product strategy officer at MissionSquare. “Our focus has always been centered on the needs of our customers when evaluating our products, and the activation of 5forLife does just that. We’re giving workers access to an in-plan option designed to deliver greater confidence, predictability, and security as they transition into retirement.”

5forLife is a guaranteed lifetime income investment option offered within the MSQ Trust Series. It combines growth potential with guaranteed lifetime income, allowing participants to maintain flexibility while addressing one of retirement’s biggest uncertainties—outliving one’s savings. The solution is designed to work within existing plan structures, helping plan sponsors enhance retirement outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity.

The activation of 5forLife builds on MissionSquare’s broader strategy to expand financial solutions and enhance the customer experience at every stage of the retirement journey. Through continued innovation, MissionSquare is focused on delivering practical tools, personalized support and solutions that help employees pursue lifetime financial security. Throughout 2026 and beyond, the firm will introduce additional service enhancements and solutions, including an enhanced suite of investment and advisory planning services.
