Trilliant Health Adds National Provider Data to Oria

Trilliant’s conversational AI platform built to make hospital prices transparent now does the same for healthcare provider data.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trilliant Health, the healthcare industry’s leading analytics firm, today announced that its national Provider Directory is now free on Oria, the company’s conversational AI platform. Oria now answers – in plain language, at no cost – two of the most important questions that consumers ask about healthcare: who provides care, and what will it cost at a hospital.

With provider data now free in Oria, the platform becomes a comprehensive answer engine for the health economy, not a single-purpose pricing tool.

Accurate provider data is foundational to patient access, care coordination, network comparison and interoperability. Yet, the public sources meant to supply it are unreliable. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) found its National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) matched only 28% of provider names, addresses and specialties against health plan directories. That gap has spawned a cottage industry charging for information that should be free, a textbook example of the administrative waste stakeholders constantly decry.

"Accurate provider data underpins nearly every decision in the health economy, yet stakeholders have had to choose between data that's free but wrong and data that's expensive and still wrong," said Hal Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of Trilliant Health. "Effective today, every American has a third – and free – option: asking Oria to reveal the most essential information in healthcare – who provides care, and where.”

Trilliant Health's Provider Directory uses machine learning to validate NPPES and other public sources against billions of medical claims, creating a single source of truth for more than 3.1M clinicians. Oria can now answer questions like:

  • Where does a specific physician currently practice, and what is their specialty?
  • Which oncologists practice in Tampa, FL?
  • Which counties in Mississippi have no practicing OB-GYN?
  • What share of behavioral health providers in Georgia are nurse practitioners?

With provider data now free in Oria, the platform becomes a comprehensive answer engine for the health economy, not a single-purpose pricing tool.

The Provider Directory is now publicly available at oria.trillianthealth.com.
