EvoEndo® Expands Access to Sedation-Free Endoscopy Across Gastroenterology Programs of All Sizes

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EvoEndo®, Inc. (EvoEndo) today announced that sedation-free transnasal endoscopy (TNE) is reaching a broader range of gastroenterology programs, including clinic settings without dedicated anesthesia coverage or operating room access. Because the EvoEndo Endoscopy System does not require sedation, programs of nearly any size can offer diagnostic evaluation and monitoring in their own clinic setting.

“TNE has been an invaluable procedure for the children and their families at Duke Children’s.” – Dr. John Lyles, Director of Pediatric Endoscopy

“A sedation-free alternative to traditional endoscopy changes where care can happen,” said Ryan Hartman, Chief Operating Officer of EvoEndo. “A program doesn’t need an anesthesia team or an operating room to offer this.”

Traditional endoscopy typically requires anesthesia staffing and procedural space that programs may have to schedule around rather than control. Sedation-free TNE removes those dependencies, allowing programs to offer evaluation and monitoring on their own schedule, in their own setting.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital has expanded its TNE program from the main campus in Little Rock to the ACH Jonesboro Clinic. Dr. Sulaiman Bharwani, Pediatric Gastroenterologist, explained, “We launched the TNE program in October 2024. During these past 19 months, we’ve accomplished close to 100 procedures and have been quite pleased with our service goals in rural Arkansas. The program saved lost wages and absenteeism as well as gas savings from commuting and avoiding school absenteeism in pediatric patients.”

“Unsedated endoscopy is a key component of our commitment to innovative, patient-centered care,” said Dr. Racha Khalaf, Division Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Tampa General Hospital. “It helps us empower patients with a convenient option that allows them to avoid sedation, return to normal activities sooner, and remain actively engaged in their care.”

Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center has completed more than 100 TNE procedures. Dr. John Lyles, Director of Pediatric Endoscopy for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Duke University School of Medicine, said, “TNE has been an invaluable procedure for the children and their families at Duke Children’s. We are eager to not only continue with our current practice but also expand into new diagnostic and therapeutic applications using sedation-free endoscopy.”

EvoEndo continues to expand access to sedation-free endoscopy across gastroenterology programs of every size, from academic medical centers to community practices.
