Presidio Trust Board Elects Lynne Benioff as Chair and Trevor Traina as Vice Chair

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Presidio Trust Board of Directors has elected Lynne Benioff as Board Chair and Trevor Traina as Vice Chair. The Presidio Trust is the innovative federal agency that manages the Presidio of San Francisco, one of the most visited national park sites in the United States, in partnership with the National Park Service.

Lynne Benioff previously served on the Trust Board from 2015 to 2025 and was Board Chair from June 2021 to March 2023. She was also the co-chair of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy’s successful Presidio Tunnel Tops Campaign, which raised $98 million in donations to create the internationally lauded site. Ms. Benioff is the co-chair of TIME and is a distinguished director of the Board of Overseers of the University of California San Francisco Foundation and serves on the board of directors of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory.

"I look forward to continuing the important work of the Presidio Trust in this role," said Ms. Benioff. "It has been a privilege and a source of great pride to help preserve and enhance this extraordinary place for everyone to enjoy. I'm excited to work alongside my fellow board members and the executive team to help shape the Presidio's next chapter."

Trevor Traina is chief business officer at Tools for Humanity (TFH) and previously served as the U.S. ambassador to Austria. He is a successful tech entrepreneur and served as a trustee of institutions such as the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the Haas School of Business, and the Princeton University Art Museum. Mr. Traina is a 4th-generation San Franciscan.

The Presidio Trust board was appointed by the President of the United States in May 2026. The other members are Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen, John Bickford (Governance Committee Chair), James Burnham, and Kyle Corcoran (Finance and Audit Committee Chair).

Priorities for the board will be guiding the work of Presidio Forward – a suite of projects to improve the park’s infrastructure, open spaces, and buildings. Efforts include modernizing the Presidio’s power grid and creating 196 units of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, adding much needed housing to the park. The Presidio continues to host 9.5 million visits per year, welcoming the public to enjoy the national park site’s natural areas, trails, picnic sites, and hospitality offerings.

About the Presidio Trust and Board of Directors

The Presidio is one of America’s most visited national park sites, located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Spanning 1,500 acres next to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio is among the most biologically diverse parks in America. Historically a home to native peoples and a military post under three flags, its facilities have been reinvented as museums, restaurants, hotels, homes, and offices. The Presidio Trust is the federal agency that stewards the Presidio, in partnership with the National Park Service and with support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. The Trust sustains the Presidio by leasing homes and workplaces and offering visitor amenities.

The Presidio Trust is governed by a seven-member board of directors. Six members are appointed by the President of the United States. The seventh is the U.S. Secretary of the Interior or her designee. Information about all Presidio Trust Board members is on the Trust website.
