Mediacom Communications Names Jon Heleno Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller

MEDIACOM PARK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mediacom Communications today announced the appointment of Jon Heleno as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. Heleno succeeds Julien Dancona, who recently retired after 25 years with the Company. In this role, Heleno will serve as Mediacom’s senior accounting executive, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, technical accounting, tax oversight, external audit, and internal controls.

Heleno brings more than 25 years of accounting and finance leadership across complex, multi-billion-dollar organizations. He joins Mediacom from Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Planning & Budgeting, overseeing a $5 billion enterprise. Prior to that, he spent six years as Deputy Controller at Columbia University, held senior finance leadership roles at Stryker and at Mars, Incorporated, including as CFO of Mars Retail Group, and began his career in public accounting. Jon holds a B.S. in Accounting from St. Peter's College, and an MBA from Montclair State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

"Jon brings the rigor, sophistication, and operational mindset we look for in a senior accounting leader," said Jack Griffin, Mediacom’s Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. “His versatile background will translate well to the complexity of our industry, and I'm confident he will be an outstanding partner to me and Mediacom’s senior leadership team. I’d like to thank Julien for 25 years of exemplary service to the Company, and wish him all the best in a well-deserved retirement.”

"Mediacom has built a strong reputation for financial discipline and operational excellence, and I’m honored to join at such a dynamic time for the Company,” said Heleno. “I look forward to working closely with Jack and the entire leadership team to support Mediacom’s growth."
