Creekstone Energy Secures 43,000 Dth/Day of Firm Kern River Natural Gas Capacity for Its Delta AI Campus

Firm, contracted pipeline capacity is now in place for the gigawatt-scale Delta Gigasite, one of the few U.S. sites that can bring dedicated, behind-the-meter power to AI and high-performance-computing tenants without a multi-year wait for the grid.

DELTA, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Firm pipeline capacity is the difference between a plan and a project. Creekstone Energy LLC now has it for the Delta Gigasite.

The company has secured 43,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/day) of firm natural gas transportation capacity on the Kern River Gas Transmission pipeline. It provides a contracted fuel supply for the Delta Gigasite, its gigawatt-scale, behind-the-meter AI energy campus in Millard County. Kern River's public transactional reporting confirms this capacity. It is enough firm fuel to support roughly 220 megawatts of behind-the-meter generation, the first block of a campus master-planned to scale past 10 gigawatts.

For most new data centers, the limiting factor is power, not land or capital. Firm gas transportation capacity is one of the scarcest inputs in the market today, and Creekstone now has it under contract. That puts Delta ahead of competing sites still waiting on the grid.

The Delta Gigasite sits on 1,143 acres that Creekstone owns outright, near the Intermountain Power Project. The land carries Heavy Industrial zoning and a conditional use permit for both a data center and on-site power generation, and multiple fiber routes delivering sub-20 millisecond speed to cities like Denver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. With power generated on site in 2027, tenants do not have to spend years waiting in a grid interconnection queue.

"Reliable, contracted power is the thing every AI operator is chasing right now, and we've locked it in on a site built to deliver it,” said Ray Conley, Chief Executive Officer of Creekstone Energy. “Delta is open for the companies that need real energy now, not years from now."

The project also represents a multi-billion-dollar reinvestment in Millard County after the retirement of the Intermountain Power coal units, bringing construction jobs, long-term operations, and new generation that supports Utah's energy goals.
