Total Synergy and Monograph Join Forces to Build a Global, AI-Enabled Standard for A&E Practice Management
The combined company, with additional capital from investors, will use its scale, resources, and A&E expertise to help drive innovation that can advance AI-enabled solutions for architects and engineers globally
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Total Synergy and Monograph today announced that they are joining forces to build a global technology company dedicated exclusively to the architecture and engineering industry.
Total Synergy brings more than 25 years of A&E software expertise and an established presence across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Monograph adds a modern U.S. platform built specifically for architecture and engineering firms. Together, the companies have a stronger foundation for product innovation, market expansion, and long-term growth.
The transaction builds on Total Synergy’s 2025 acquisition of Factor A/E, which serves small and growing A&E firms in the United States. Across Total Synergy, Monograph, and Factor A/E, the combined company will continue to support firms across a broad range of sizes, geographies, and operating models.
A&E firms are running increasingly complex businesses, yet many still rely on spreadsheets, disconnected systems, and manual processes to manage projects, people, billing, and financial performance. This fragmentation creates unnecessary administrative work, limits visibility, and makes it harder for firms to make timely, informed decisions.
Total Synergy and Monograph share a vision for replacing that complexity with connected, intelligent technology built around how A&E firms actually work. By joining forces, the companies can accelerate product development of AI-enabled solutions that modernize firm operations.
“A&E firms aren't just delivering projects – they're running complex businesses, and their software hasn't kept pace. It shouldn’t be this time-consuming or hard to run a practice,” said Kane Hochster, CEO of Total Synergy. “With more scale and investment, our goal is to help them spend less time managing systems and more time serving clients. Together, we can build more intelligent tools that automate routine work, provide clearer insights, and make running an A&E firm easier.”
The three companies bring complementary strengths. Total Synergy contributes international scale and experience serving larger, more complex firms. Monograph brings strong U.S. market recognition and an intuitive product experience. Factor A/E adds deep experience supporting small and growing A&E firms.
“We’ve long believed that A&E firms are underserved by the tools available to them,” said Mike Anello, Founder and Managing Director at M33 Growth. “This combination brings together complementary products in an effort to build a leading innovator in the space – freeing architects and engineers to focus on the craft they love.”
“Total Synergy, Factor, and Monograph bring together complementary products and deep industry expertise,” said Bill Skarinka, Managing Director at PSG. “We’re proud to back Kane and the team with the resources to build a category-defining company – and in doing so, help raise the bar for the entire A&E industry.”
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
