BRTV Launches Where Spring Breeze Blows (Season 2), a 10-Episode Multi-platform Documentary Showcasing Beijing's Most Inspiring Urban Development Stories
BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In July 2026, Beijing Radio & Television Station launched the 10-episode multimedia documentary series Where the Spring Breeze Blows Gently (Season 2), with each episode ranging from 10 to 14 minutes. The series introduces a fresh narrative approach by featuring international visitors from Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Egypt, Iraq, and Ukraine. Embedded in Beijing’s daily rhythms, these visitors experience the city firsthand, wandering through historic hutongs and neighborhood markets, speaking with local residents, and visiting innovation hubs, cultural venues and urban green spaces. Through their own observations, they develop a deep, nuanced understanding of Beijing’s multifaceted development. Focusing on themes such as urban renewal, breakthroughs in scientific research, and ecological governance, the visitors offer a cross-cultural, comparative perspective to each subject, weaving together warm, human-centered storytelling with thoughtful, clear-eyed analysis. Together, these narratives offer a vivid and authentic portrait of Beijing's transformation, showcasing the real-life development of a capital city pursuing Chinese modernization. The genuine connections forged across cultures bring ten intimate and compelling Beijing stories to life, transcending language barriers to become vivid examples of cross-cultural dialogue.
The production team commissioned a Nigerian vocal group to compose and perform the theme song, Where the Spring Breeze Blows Gently. With its buoyant rhythm, catchy melody, and uplifting mood, the track beautifully captures the empathetic spirit and inspiring vision of the documentary. The team also produced an original music video inspired by the theme song, interlacing documentary footage, personal accounts, voiceovers, and the track itself to render the stories behind the series in a vivid audiovisual experience.
