Texas Methodist Foundation Awards $1.2 Million in Grants to 40 Churches and Nonprofit Ministries Across Texas and New Mexico

Through grants to trusted local ministries, TMF invests in the relationships that help communities heal, stabilize, and flourish

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Texas Methodist Foundation (TMF) has awarded $1.2 million to 40 churches and nonprofit ministries across Texas and New Mexico who ground their practices in long-term relationships and on the assets and gifts already at work in the neighborhoods and communities they serve.

Selected as part of TMF’s Spring 2026 grant cycle, these ministries serve different needs—from healthcare and mental health to food security, youth development, and education—but share a common approach. Along with delivering programs, they are fully present and committed to those they serve over the long term, coming alongside individuals and families through seasons of crisis and helping them flourish.

By investing in trusted local organizations already rooted in their communities, TMF's Grants Ministry strengthens ministries that restore dignity, deepen relationships, and help families and neighborhoods for generations to come.

The churches and nonprofit ministries selected are transforming lives through faith, relationship, and community. These grantees include:

• Bethel A.M.E Church in San Antonio, Texas
   
  For generations, Bethel A.M.E. Church has transformed faith into action on San Antonio’s East Side. Through food assistance, emergency shelter, youth mentoring, technology education, and future affordable senior housing, Bethel strengthens families, meets critical needs, and creates lasting opportunities for the community it serves.
  

• Frontera Healthcare Network in Menard, Texas
  
  Rural families across six Central Texas counties are gaining access to quality healthcare closer to home through Frontera Healthcare Network, which provides medical, behavioral health, and school-based services that strengthen health and well-being across entire communities.
  
  
• In His Hands Food Pantry in Edinburg, Texas 
  
  More than 400 individuals each month receive nutritious food, prayer, and encouragement through In His Hands Food Pantry. Serving the Rio Grande Valley with dignity and compassion, the ministry helps alleviate hunger, strengthen families, and create a more hopeful and connected community.
  

• GROW North Texas in Dallas, Texas
  
  Families and communities across North Texas are building a healthier, more equitable food system through GROW North Texas, expanding access to fresh food, supporting local growers, and strengthening food security for generations to come.
  
  
• Neighbors in Action in Houston, Texas
  
  Children, youth, and families in Houston's Port Houston neighborhood are finding opportunity through Neighbors in Action, where education, mentoring, discipleship, and family support help build stronger relationships, deeper faith, and lasting stability.
  
  
• Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance in Carlsbad, New Mexico
  
  Individuals and families across southeastern New Mexico and the Permian Basin are finding hope and healing through Permian Basin Counseling & Guidance, expanding access to counseling, crisis intervention, and telehealth services that strengthen mental wellness and resilience.
  
  
• Roy Maas Youth Alternatives in San Antonio, Texas
  
  Children and young adults facing abuse, neglect, homelessness, and exploitation find safety and hope through Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, where care, counseling, education, and transitional support help them heal, thrive, and build brighter futures.
