Leostream Platform Update Offers Sophisticated Identity and Access Management, Infrastructure Flexibility, Intelligent Automation

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leostream Corporation today announced 2026’s first major update to the industry-leading Leostream® Remote Desktop Access Platform, offering stronger identity-driven access, broader infrastructure flexibility, and deeper automation.

Leostream’s new 26.1 platform delivers a secure, high-performance, vendor-agnostic digital desktop/workstation solution for hybrid, GPU-enabled, and specialized enterprise environments. New features add modern authentication, more secure DCV access, IPv6-readiness, new Proxmox interoperability, increased AWS operational flexibility, updated Linux identity integration, and expanded API-driven administration.

New features include:

Passwordless SSO for DCV connections

Users of the Amazon DCV display protocol can now leverage their organization’s identity provider for their Leostream login and launch DCV sessions without additional password prompts. IT teams find this reduces reliance on shared or repeatedly entered credentials, while aligning DCV access with centralized identity and authentication policies. End users gain more streamlined sign-ins to their high-performance enterprise applications. Passwordless SSO is especially valued in remote GPU environments where engineers, designers, researchers, and creative teams need quick, secure access to cloud or data center workstations.

DCV Connection Gateway support

Leostream customers now have another architecture option for securely routing DCV sessions across larger or more segmented environments. Support for the Amazon DCV Connection Gateway helps organizations simplify network exposure while keeping desktops and workstations behind controlled access layers. This helps manage DCV access at scale while preserving the brokered, policy-driven foundation of the Leostream Platform.

IPv6 support for modern infrastructures

Modern enterprises, service providers, government agencies, and cloud-first organizations are increasingly adopting IPv6 for scaling, address management, cloud connectivity, and compliance. Out-of-the-box support for IPv6 allows Leostream customers to operate efficiently across both their legacy and next-generation network models and supports evolving infrastructure requirements without workarounds or added tools.

Join Linux VMs to an AD domain

The ability to join Linux virtual machines to an Active Directory domain extends centralized identity management to Linux-based remote desktops and workstations to help standardize authentication, user assignments, policy enforcement, and lifecycle management. Enterprises that run mixed Windows and Linux environments, such as engineering, media production, research, energy, semiconductors, and software development, can bring Linux VMs into the same identity and access governance framework used across the entire organization.

Proxmox Centers for inventory and power control

Proxmox VE is a flexible, open-source server management platform for enterprise virtualization that integrates KVM, Linux Containers, software-defined storage, and networking through a unified interface. Leostream’s new Proxmox Centers give Leostream administrators options to inventory Proxmox-hosted resources and control VM power states from within the Leostream platform, extending the value of Proxmox to organizations looking for more control over infrastructure costs, licensing, and deployment models.

RESTful APIs for desktop records

IT administrators and DevOps teams now have more control over automation, integration, and large-scale operations via expanded RESTful APIs for desktop records. These new features eliminate manual steps to programmatically update desktop metadata, availability, assignment state, or related records, whether for broader workflows or for improved integration with ticketing systems, CMDBs, orchestration tools, cloud management platforms, or custom self-service portals.

Support for hibernation in AWS EC2 instances

Leostream has enhanced support for AWS hibernation-capable instances so that instead of fully shutting down a cloud workstation, thereby losing its session state, the working state is preserved yet active compute usage is reduced. This feature has been introduced to balance the cost and productivity advantages of using the Leostream platform with AWS, and benefits users working with complex applications, large datasets, long-running creative tools, or development environments that take longer to reopen.

OpenID Connect authentication

Leostream customers now have another standards-based option for modern identity providers thanks to a new integration with the OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication protocol, built on OAuth 2.0, that allows clients to verify user identity through an authorization server. Organizations that already use identity platforms built around OIDC, including enterprise SSO environments and enterprises with Zero-Trust and identity-first security architectures, will find easier deployment and interoperability.
