Maxio Launches Native Entitlements, Making Access Part of the Subscription Record for B2B SaaS and AI

Access rights, usage limits, and service rights are defined once and resolved automatically, so billing and product access never fall out of sync

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Maxio, the leading platform for billing automation and revenue management for B2B SaaS and AI companies, today announced the release of Entitlements, an access and governance layer that simplifies management of what customers are entitled to as part of their subscription.

"Billing and access data have been split across two systems for so long that most teams treat it as normal. It isn't," said Branden Jenkins, chief executive officer at Maxio. "AI and usage-based pricing made that split impossible to ignore."

Many SaaS and AI companies manage feature access through custom code and ad hoc engineering work, with logic built for one pricing model and rebuilt for the next. Webhook integrations and spreadsheets fill the gaps until the next pricing change breaks them.

Entitlements built directly into the billing system closes that gap. Access rights, usage limits, and service rights are defined once in Maxio and returned through a single API call. When a subscription changes, entitlements update automatically, with no custom provisioning logic, no reconciliation spreadsheet, and no engineering ticket.

"Billing and access data have been split across two systems for so long that most teams treat it as normal. It isn't," said Branden Jenkins, chief executive officer at Maxio. "AI and usage-based pricing made that split impossible to ignore. Revenue models now mix subscriptions, usage, and one-time charges in the same contract, and most companies are still running systems built for a single, simple model. Entitlements makes Maxio your single source of truth for what a customer bought and what they can do with it. No more hoping your systems agree. They're one system now."

The Entitlement Query API returns a structured view of what a customer can access across every product and add-on they hold. It covers three entitlement types: access rights that are on or off per plan, usage limits with a numeric cap and reset interval, and service rights such as SLA tier or CSM assignment.

When a customer holds multiple products or add-ons, Entitlements combines them into one response that is traceable back to whatever granted them.

Entitlements is part of Maxio's monetization infrastructure alongside Metering and Wallets, planned for Fall 2026. Together, the three give companies a real-time view of what a customer bought, what they can access right now, and how much stored value they have left.

Entitlements is available for all Maxio customers. Full details at maxio.com/entitlement-management.
