The Natural Funeral, Inc. Leads U.S. Expansion of Natural Organic Reduction Across the Southeast and Northeast
TerraCare System Equips A.S. Turner & Sons and Sacred Soil with Advanced Terramation Technology and Operational Expertise
LAFAYETTE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Natural Funeral, Inc., the leading provider of Terramation systems for funeral homes, crematories, and cemeteries, today announced new partnerships with Georgia-based A.S. Turner & Sons and Vermont-based Sacred Soil, enabling both organizations to offer Natural Organic Reduction services powered by the company’s advanced TerraCare technology.
Natural Organic Reduction, also known as human composting or what The Natural Funeral refers to as Terramation, transforms human remains into nutrient-rich regenerative soil through a carefully managed natural process. These new facilities represent a significant milestone in expanding local access to the most environmentally beneficial form of final disposition available.
Sacred Soil recently became the first operational Terramation facility in New England after receiving authorization from the State of Vermont. A.S. Turner & Sons has completed installation of its TerraCare System and is expected to receive final state certification imminently, becoming the first Terramation provider in the Southeastern United States.
These two facilities dramatically expand access to Terramation across the Southeast and Northeast, bringing this option within reach of millions of families. For the first time, families in metropolitan areas including Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Jacksonville, Boston, Burlington, Hartford, and Providence can choose Terramation through the funeral homes, crematories, and cemeteries they already know and trust. With the capacity to serve funeral professionals and families across more than a dozen states, the facilities represent the latest expansion of The Natural Funeral, Inc.'s TerraCare Partner Program, with additional partnerships currently under development in California, Arizona, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Maryland.
Rather than centralizing Terramation into a handful of distant facilities, The Natural Funeral developed the proprietary TerraCare System and TerraCare Partner Program to equip trusted local providers with a complete turnkey solution for performing Terramation within their own communities. Backed by the proven operational expertise of The Natural Funeral, the program gives partners everything they need to confidently respond to the growing shift in consumer values toward environmentally responsible end-of-life care.
“Terramation is fundamentally reshaping end-of-life care by giving families a choice that honors both the people they love and the planet they’ll leave to future generations,” said Mike Reagan, CEO of The Natural Funeral, Inc. “Every family should have access to that choice through the funeral professionals they already know and trust. Our growing network of TerraCare Partners is making that vision a reality.”
The First Terramation Facilities Serving the Southeast and Northeast
For more than a century, A.S. Turner & Sons has served families throughout metropolitan Atlanta. Upon receiving final state certification, A.S. Turner & Sons will be the first Terramation provider in the Southeastern United States.
“For more than 100 years, our responsibility has been to serve families with compassion while adapting to their changing needs,” said Cy Hume, President of A.S. Turner & Sons. “Offering Terramation allows us to continue that tradition by providing families with an environmentally responsible choice that reflects the values of a growing number of the people we serve.”
Sacred Soil marks a historic milestone for New England while creating a new model for collaboration with funeral homes throughout the region.
“Our vision extends well beyond serving families directly,” said Chris Wasley, Founder of Sacred Soil. “We’ve built Sacred Soil to partner with funeral homes throughout the Northeast, empowering them to offer Terramation to the families they’ve served for generations while keeping their loved ones in the care of the funeral professionals they trust.”
Terramation is now legal in fourteen states, with additional states actively considering legislation. Through its expanding TerraCare Partner Program, The Natural Funeral, Inc. continues to play a leading role in the funeral profession’s transition toward environmentally responsible end-of-life care. Each Terramation performed in a TerraCare Chrysalis™ Vessel sequesters approximately one-half ton of carbon dioxide, making it the most environmentally beneficial form of final disposition available.
