Peraton Appoints Salim Omar as Chief Financial Officer to Accelerate Its Next Phase of Growth
RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Peraton, a leading provider of national security solutions, today announced the appointment of Salim Omar as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective June 20, 2026.
Omar most recently served as Acting CFO of Peraton, following more than a decade in senior finance leadership roles across the company and its predecessor organizations. Over the course of his tenure, Omar has developed deep institutional knowledge of Peraton’s business while building a distinguished record of financial leadership and stewardship across the enterprise.
“I am pleased to announce Salim’s promotion to Chief Financial Officer,” said Peraton Chairman and CEO Steve Schorer. “During his time at Peraton, Salim has helped accelerate our momentum and further position the company to drive growth, elevate performance, and deliver superior mission impact for our customers. I am confident that, in his new role, Salim will reinforce the financial rigor and strategic clarity that our investors and partners expect.”
Throughout his career, Omar has led large-scale operational improvement and restructuring initiatives that materially enhanced working capital, fortified financial systems, and generated substantial cost efficiencies. He has also played an instrumental role in mergers and acquisitions, public market transactions, post-merger integrations, and divestitures across complex, multifaceted organizations, all of which are core competencies central to Peraton's continued strategic expansion.
Omar has held leadership roles at Perspecta, Vencore, ManTech, and SAIC. He began his career at the Federal Reserve Board, where he built a strong foundation in financial analysis and a deep understanding of government contracting and the macroeconomic and regulatory environments that shape the industry.
“I am honored to lead Peraton's finance operations at such a pivotal moment,” said Omar. “Our finance and leadership teams have built a strong foundation of fiscal resilience and disciplined execution. I look forward to building on that foundation as we advance our strategic priorities and continue to deliver unmatched mission capability for our customers.”
Omar holds an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Decision Sciences, and Management Information Systems from George Mason University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
