OTTAWA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As global demand for energy, critical minerals, agricultural products, and strategic supply chains continues to grow, Canada has an opportunity to become one of the world's leading exporters of natural resources and value-added products. Achieving this goal requires bold infrastructure investments, faster project approvals, and a long-term national vision.
The proposed Kitsault Energy corridor represents an opportunity to increase Canada’s GDP and generate sustained economic growth.

Since January of 2013, Kitsault Energy (KE) has been developing such a vision.
KE proposes the development of a dedicated energy and commodity export corridor connecting Port Churchill in northern Manitoba to Kitsault Port on British Columbia's northwest coast, establishing the largest port along the Alice Arm from Observatory Inlet.
This corridor would create a new gateway to Asian and European markets and has the potential to export:
- Nuclear energy
- Liquefied natural gas (LNG)
- Natural gas liquids (NGL)
- Canadian crude oil
- Potash
- Uranium
- Critical minerals
- Canola and pulse crops
The KE corridor represents an opportunity to increase Canada’s GDP and generate sustained economic growth through:
- Billions of dollars in private-sector investment
- Thousands of construction and permanent skilled jobs
- Increased exports to international markets, particularly to Asia, Europe, and Russia
- Higher federal and provincial tax revenues
- Increased economic participation with First Nation communities through long-term partnerships, expanded benefits for new housing, Pro Health Centers, jobs and job training
By expanding export infrastructure, Canada can strengthen energy security for allies while creating long-term economic benefits at home. KE believes Canada has the resource base and market opportunities to increase crude oil exports from approximately 5-5.5 million barrels per day to 10 million barrels per day, and to quadruple current LNG and NGL exports.
The U.S. demonstrates what is possible when world-class energy resources are supported by timely infrastructure development and investment. Over the past 20 years, U.S. crude oil production has grown to nearly 14 million barrels per day, making the country the world's largest crude oil producer. The U.S. has also become the world's largest exporter of LNG, with export capacity of approximately 110 million tonnes per year.
Kitsault Energy has been prepared to take the lead for quite some time.
