AFL Associates Donate $2.2 Million to Communities Worldwide

SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AFL held its tenth annual Imagine That! fundraising campaign, supporting communities around the world where AFL operates. This year's campaign, themed "Impact the Pack: Refuel the Future," concluded with a $2,224,061 donation to organizations around the world including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

All AFL locations participated in the campaign by encouraging associates to consider contributing financially to their community. All donations were matched by AFL’s Community Outreach Program. Reflecting AFL's core value of being Community Centered, this year's campaign spotlighted Backpack Programs, which supply nutritious meals and snacks to children beyond regular school hours. These programs help address food insecurity during weekends, school breaks and holidays when many students who rely on school meals as their primary nutrition source might otherwise go hungry.

"Seeing associates across the globe come together to support programs like Backpack Programs is incredibly moving," said Angie Myers, Sr. Director of Community Relations at AFL. “These programs make a real difference for kids who might otherwise go without, and the generosity our associates show year after year is something we're truly proud of."

AFL maintains its longstanding partnership with United Way of the Piedmont, giving associates the flexibility to contribute directly to featured programs or any nonprofit organization of their choice. Internationally, AFL campaign leads select organizations that associates know well. This year, international recipients included:

  • Breakfast Club of Canada
  • DIF, Santa Teresita and Comun ATI (Mexico)
  • Eat Up (Australia)

AFL has an extensive Community Outreach Program that provides grants, sponsorships, associate engagement projects, disaster relief and more. For additional information on AFL and its community initiatives, visit www.AFLglobal.com.
