Western Union and Intermex Provide an Update on Pending Acquisition of Intermex

DENVER & MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Western Union Company (“Western Union”) (NYSE: WU) and International Money Express, Inc. (“Intermex”) (NASDAQ: IMXI) today provided an update on the approval process and timeline for Western Union’s pending acquisition of Intermex. To date, money transmission regulators in 51 applicable U.S. states and territories and in all international jurisdictions have provided their approval of or non-objection to the acquisition, and approval or non-objection is currently pending from one U.S. state. Western Union and Intermex remain actively engaged in discussions with regulators, including the New York State Department of Financial Services, to obtain the final regulatory approval. Western Union and Intermex anticipate closing the transaction as soon as reasonably practicable upon receipt of such approval as well as satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
