Throughout National Pet Preparedness Month, Woofie's is shining a spotlight on proactive pet safety and emergency preparedness, especially as summer vacations and Independence Day celebrations introduce new risks for pets. From the stress of fireworks to the dangers of extreme heat and travel, the season demands extra vigilance. To help families stay ready, Woofie's is offering free resources including a downloadable emergency wallet card and pet emergency window cling designed to give first responders and others critical information about pets when it matters most.

Woofie's also encourages pet owners to build a comprehensive emergency plan that includes evacuation routes, emergency contacts, and pet tracking so every furry family member is accounted for in the event of a natural disaster or unexpected emergency.

“Safety is foundational to Woofie’s,” said Woofie’s Co-Founder and President, Amy Addington. “Summer is packed with exciting adventures for pets and their people, and pet safety should be planned for while families are traveling or are at home. Our mission at Woofie’s is to give pet owners complete confidence that their furry family members are receiving the highest level of care year-round.”

As part of its ongoing investment in pet emergency preparedness and safety, Woofie’s recently added Angela Verhine, with extensive experience in pet business operations and safety, to its Franchise Business Coach Team. Verhine is Pet Tech® certified, with a key aspect of her job focused on training new Woofie’s franchise owners on CPR, first aid, and safety considerations, from leading with prevention, to addressing universal threats like heat and choking to teaching franchise owners to assess potential regional dangers.

“Groomers, walkers, and pet sitters are often on the front lines of identifying pet health concerns—like environmental threats, weather concerns, or behavioral issues—that pet parents need to be aware of. Prevention is typically the best medicine, which is why Woofie’s pet professionals aim to give pet owners and sitters ideas on what to look out for. That level of attentiveness is what makes Woofie’s a special organization for franchise owners and families we serve,” said Verhine.

Woofie’s comprehensive safety focus includes:

  • Collaboration with Fi to offer Woofie’s customers discounts on GPS collars that provide AI-powered health and activity monitoring, as well as live tracking, and escape alerts for added peace of mind.
  • The American Kennel Club’s Safety, Assurance, Fundamentals, and Education (AKC S.A.F.E.) Certification across many Woofie’s franchise locations and groomers.
