Reveal Introduces Logikcull for Public Records to Automate Intake and Response for Government Agencies

With its deep public sector DNA, the solution marries Logikcull’s discovery automation platform with advanced PII detection, redaction capabilities and a public-facing request portal.

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Reveal, the provider of integrated AI-native platforms that span the eDiscovery lifecycle, today announced Logikcull for Public Records, a unified request-to-disclosure automation platform that equips state and local government, education and other public institutions to tackle skyrocketing requests under free of information laws. Logikcull for Public Records is available now in early access with broad availability coming in July.

The solution pairs a customizable public-facing portal for request intake, tracking, communication and reporting with the collection, search, review and redaction capabilities hundreds of government and education teams have trusted from Logikcull since 2013. Teams in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Jacksonville are among them. The unified platform adds workflows built for public records management, AI-assisted search via Reveal's proprietary ASK engine, automated PII detection, bulk redaction upgrades and templates specific to the local laws of dozens of municipalities.

In recent years, government organizations have grappled not only with the explosion of records, as data from sources ranging from bodycam footage to Slack to ChatGPT have fallen under the dragnet of freedom of information laws, but also a surge in requests. Yet most have been forced to choose between request-tracking portals that stop short of response automation and litigation-grade eDiscovery technology that requires specialized knowledge, burdensome support and deep pockets.

Logikcull for Public Records closes that gap, addressing the full lifecycle of a request in one workflow.

"For years, public sector teams have leaned on Logikcull and the Reveal suite of products to handle records work that would otherwise overwhelm them,” said Reveal CEO Eric Harmon. “The challenge has only grown, with more requests and more data than ever falling under transparency laws. Logikcull for Public Records meets that moment, bringing intake, response, and disclosure into one workflow so overburdened agencies can do more with the resources they have, backed by powerful technology they already know."

One Simple Workflow, From Request to Disclosure

With Logikcull for Public Records, citizens submit requests through a secure, agency-branded portal. Records officers triage, assign and track each one against its statutory deadline, with automated reminders and the full communication history in one place. From there, Logikcull handles collection, identification and response, then publishes the completed, redacted documents back to the requester from the same system.

Logikcull for Public Records features direct integration with records systems like MS365 and Google Workspace, automatic PII detection and redaction, a library of FOIA exemption codes, AI-assisted search and a detailed redaction audit trail.

Completed, redacted responses are then made available back to the requester from the same system. Configurable exemption logic supports FOIA, FERPA and international regimes including UK and EU FOI and the Dutch Woo.

Response Times 500% Faster

Because the experience is built for public servants rather than eDiscovery specialists, new users typically become self-sufficient within an hour, with no IT project or implementation consultant required. Logikcull’s workflow automation and AI-powered search prove a dramatic force-multiplier.

Corona, California reports reviewing public records six times faster after adopting Logikcull. Fairfax County says it turns around 90% of requests within an hour with Logikcull, while managing a 200% increase in annual requests.

“If I spend an hour within Logikcull on one specific PRA, I can easily get through several hundred documents,” said Tayler York, a city clerk services specialist for Corona, for a recent case study. “Before, I was only getting through about 50.”
