Bye Aerospace Nears eFlyer 2 First Flight Milestone

Aviation company highlights suppliers supporting its all-electric aircraft ahead of highly anticipated flight-test

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bye Aerospace, a pioneer in sustainable aviation delivering economically disruptive, FAA-certified, all-electric aircraft, today introduced its global supplier and technology partners supporting the development of its all-electric aircraft as the company prepares for the upcoming first flight of eFlyer 2. The eFlyer 2 is a 2-seat training aircraft featuring an efficient electric propulsion system, lightweight composite airframe, and safety-enhancing aerodynamic design.

Compared to conventional training aircraft, Bye’s all-electric aircraft operate more quietly and can lower maintenance and energy costs by up to 80 percent, helping to improve the economics of flight operations to make aviation more accessible for operators and students. With increasing demand for pilot training and a growing need to attract the next generation of aviators, Bye Aerospace aims to help modernize flight training while supporting broader industry sustainability goals.

“Our partners supporting the eFlyer 2 program represent some of the most respected names across the aviation industry,” said Rod Zastrow, CEO of Bye Aerospace. “Their involvement reflects the low-risk approach and technical progress of the program, as well as the growing confidence in electric aviation. As we approach the first flight, this milestone represents years of focused development and close collaboration with partners who have helped turn eFlyer 2 from a concept into a flight-ready aircraft.”

The eFlyer 2 program brings together the expertise of tier-one suppliers and innovators in design, propulsion, avionics, batteries, and composites. Bye’s supplier ecosystem reflects the multidisciplinary technologies required to bring a certified electric aviation platform to market.

Safran Electrical and Power supplied the ENGINeUS 100B1 electric motor for the eFlyer 2 program. The EASA-certified electric propulsion system is designed to deliver reliable, high-performance electric power while supporting the aircraft’s low-noise operation, energy efficiency, and reduced emissions profile.

magniX USA provided the aircraft’s electric energy storage system, including advanced battery modules, redundant power distribution, and charging technologies. The system is designed to support the eFlyer 2’s high energy density and extended all-electric flight duration capabilities.

Siemens Digital Industries Software supplied the digital engineering tools used to design and develop the eFlyer 2, including software for aircraft design, structural analysis, simulation and program management.

Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. was selected to provide advanced composite materials used throughout the aircraft structure. The lightweight, high-strength composite materials reduce aircraft weight while supporting durability and structural performance.

Composite Approach was selected to complete fabrication and assembly of the eFlyer 2 full-scale prototype aircraft, Serial Number 001, supporting development and integration activities ahead of the flight-test program.

Garmin provided the Garmin G500 TXi avionics suite for the aircraft, including touchscreen flight display and navigation capabilities designed to simplify cockpit management and support pilot situational awareness.

eFlyer 2 features a propeller system from Sensenich Propellers, which brings decades of expertise in advanced propeller design and manufacturing to support the aircraft's efficient electric propulsion performance.

Electro.Aero delivered ground support technology and a fast-charging solution for the eFlyer 2. Electro.Aero specializes in technology designed to minimize aircraft turnaround time and support the operational efficiency of electric flight training programs.

Risse Racing provided precision-machined components for the eFlyer 2, including the nose landing gear and motor mounts, bringing high-performance manufacturing expertise to support the aircraft's ground handling and structural reliability.

Flying S was selected to complete composite fabrication of eFlyer 2’s tail assembly, contributing precision manufacturing expertise to support the structural integrity and performance of the aircraft’s empennage.

M4 Engineering completed composite fabrication of eFlyer 2’s doors, applying advanced manufacturing capabilities to deliver lightweight, high-quality components that meet the program's structural and certification requirements.

Bye Aerospace is entering the final stages of preparation for the first flight of the eFlyer 2 full-scale prototype. Rigorous testing has been conducted across the aircraft, including structural load testing of the wing, fuselage and flight controls, as well as limit load testing. eFlyer 2 has also undergone low- and high-speed ground testing at various angles of attack as part of critical pre-flight checks. The company’s mobile truck test rig, also called “The Beast,” with a dedicated support structure, articulating forward fuselage, motor, and propeller assembly has been used to support the extensive testing of eFlyer 2.

Bye Aerospace’s orderbook for the 2-seat eFlyer 2 and 4-seat eFlyer 4 stands at over 1,000 aircraft. Premier flight training schools like Spartan College of Aeronautics & Technology, Skyborne Academy, Flex Air Flight School, and KLM Academy (NL) have placed orders for eFlyer aircraft.
