CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lubrizol released its latest sustainability report, Global Impact, Local Action, outlining the company’s progress in reducing environmental impact, delivering sustainable solutions and advancing safe teams and strong communities.

As the company approaches its centennial in 2028, the report highlights how sustainability is embedded across Lubrizol’s innovation practices, operations and culture — driven by science and strengthened through local action. Digital tools, data science and advanced technologies are key to accelerating the company’s sustainable solutions, supporting customers across diverse markets and regions.

“Our sustainability progress is powered by local teams taking practical action—every day—in our labs, plants and communities,” said Rebecca Liebert, President and Chief Executive Officer. “In our manufacturing network, that includes site-led projects like the vacuum dewatering initiative in Zhuhai, China, which is strengthening reliability while reducing environmental impact. The stories in this report show how those local actions add up to meaningful global progress for our customers and our company.”

The report outlines progress across three sustainability priorities:

  • Delivering sustainable products by embedding sustainability into innovation, including solutions such as PemuPur™ VISTA Polymer, Tolerathane™ Thermoplastic Polyurethane and HybriCal™ Grease Thickener which help customers meet their sustainability goals
  • Reducing environmental impact through efficiency, emissions reduction, and waste minimization with an 18% reduction in scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions in 2025, compared to a 2018 baseline
  • Advancing safe teams and strong communities through safety, inclusion, and community investment, supported by more than 14,000 volunteer hours globally in 2025

A central theme of the report is how local ownership enables global progress. Case studies from across Asia Pacific, India, the Middle East & Africa, the Americas and Europe demonstrate how site‑level action, locally driven innovation and employee engagement contribute to long‑term impact.

“Sustainability at Lubrizol is integrated into how we innovate and operate,” said Beth Grove, Chief Sustainability Officer. “Empowering local teams within a global framework is what enables progress that is practical, scalable and aligned with our long-term goals to enable a better world.”
