Vouched Now Available for EpicCare Link

Epic expands availability with Vouched via NIST IAL2-aligned flow to confirm identities of clinical and staff.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vouched, the identity verification platform built for healthcare, today announced the availability of its identity verification solution for EpicCare Link as part of Epic’s May 2026 release. With this release, Vouched now spans both MyChart and EpicCare Link and covers patients, clinicians, and staff across the full Epic platform.

The announcement marks Vouched’s second major milestone in 2026, following approval for MyChart on March 10. Together, the two listings extend Vouched’s verified identity layer across both patient-facing and clinician-facing Epic applications, giving healthcare organizations a consistent, high-assurance identity verification approach across their Epic environment.

During onboarding, clinicians and staff submit a government-issued ID alongside a live selfie. Vouched’s platform analyzes the ID for authenticity and performs a direct one-to-one comparison of the selfie against the ID photo, confirming that the individual presenting the credential is the person to whom it was issued. This is a biometric confirmation of a claimed identity, not a search against an external database.

A liveness check performed at the point of selfie capture ensures the image represents a real, present individual rather than a spoof attempt such as a printed photo or video replay. The system applies configurable thresholds and image quality checks to balance security with usability for a clinical workforce where speed matters. The overall process is aligned with NIST Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2), giving healthcare organizations defensible, standards-based foundation for access control.
