MAI Capital Management Congratulates Bud Cauley on First PGA TOUR Victory, Announces Multi-Year Sponsorship

Cauley's victory at the 2026 RBC Canadian Open caps his comeback story, as MAI announces a partnership built on shared values of perseverance and professionalism

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MAI Capital Management (“MAI”), a registered investment advisor (RIA) focused on empowering clients to simplify, protect and grow their wealth, congratulates Bud Cauley on his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2026 RBC Canadian Open as it announces its Sports & Entertainment division has entered a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the longtime MAI client. The partnership, which extends through the 2027 season, celebrates Cauley's perseverance and professionalism and reflects MAI's commitment to supporting elite athletes on and off the course.

MAI’s connection to professional golf extends to its earliest days. The firm was founded in 1973 based on a handshake deal between golfing legend Arnold Palmer and his agent, Mark McCormack. McCormack's vision for helping athletes extended beyond financial planning to encompass business management, tax support and lifestyle guidance so clients could focus entirely on their game. That same philosophy, removing complexity from an athlete's life so they can concentrate on what they do best, is central to how MAI serves its clients today, including Cauley, whose journey as both a client and competitor embodies that spirit.

Cauley is a longstanding client of the firm who has earned multiple top finishes throughout his PGA TOUR career. He is also widely respected for his steady approach and resilience. Following a serious car accident in 2018 that resulted in significant injuries and multiple surgeries, Cauley returned to professional golf full-time in 2024 and continued competing at the sport's highest level. His perseverance culminated in his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2026 Canadian Open, where he won in his 239th career start.

“Winning takes talent, but what Bud has demonstrated over the course of his career takes something more," said Joe McLean, Managing Partner, Sports & Entertainment at MAI Capital Management. “We have had the privilege of serving Bud and his family for years, and his victory in Toronto is a testament to everything he has overcome. Bud's journey is about far more than winning a golf tournament—it is a story of resilience, discipline and unwavering belief. Those are the kinds of qualities that matter at MAI, both professionally and personally, and we are honored to be part of his journey.”

For Cauley, the partnership is a natural extension of a relationship that has been part of his career for years.

“MAI has been part of my life for a long time, so this partnership felt very natural from the beginning,” said Cauley. “What has always stood out to me is the way the team approaches relationships. There’s a level of trust, consistency and personal support that you do not find everywhere, and that has meant a lot throughout my career. Golf is a game that requires patience and discipline, and I think those same qualities are reflected in the way MAI works with clients and builds lasting relationships.”

As part of the partnership, MAI's logo will appear on Cauley's right sleeve during PGA TOUR events. The sponsorship will also include opportunities for collaborative storytelling and client engagement initiatives centered on the shared values between Cauley and MAI.
