SCIP Named "Risk Management Innovation of the Year" in 2026 SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards Program

Award recognizes Assure, SCIP's part-level risk intelligence that identifies parts at risk of disruption and reduces business impact before it occurs

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SCIP (Supply Chain Intelligence Platform), the AI-powered decision intelligence layer for supply chains, today announced it has been named "Risk Management Innovation of the Year" in the 2026 SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards, an annual program honoring standout technology companies, products, and solutions across the global supply chain and logistics industry.

Most organizations manage supply chain risk at the supplier level. Disruption arrives at the part level, where a single end-of-life component, a constrained supplier, or a quietly stretching lead time can cascade into production, delivery, customer, and margin risk. Existing risk tools are built to react. They surface high-level signals after a disruption has already occurred, then leave it to supply chain teams to determine whether the risk actually impacts the business, which parts are exposed, and what to do next. By that point, the best options are often gone.

Assure, SCIP's risk module and the capability recognized by the award, inverts that model. Rather than reporting disruptions after the fact, Assure highlights when a part is at risk of disruption and recommends ways to reduce the likelihood that the business is impacted if one occurs. Part-level risk is continuously updated by SCIP's AI agents, which reconcile and enrich data from across the entire supply chain dataset, augmented with third-party intelligence and SCIP's proprietary data, and tied directly to business impact: the products, orders, and revenue each part affects. Assure scores every part on factors including supplier concentration, lifecycle status, lead-time volatility, and geographic exposure, then recommends the action most likely to reduce exposure, whether qualifying an alternate, adding a second source, or increasing safety stock, ranked by which moves protect the business most. The approach reflects a broader shift in enterprise AI, away from tools that summarize what happened and toward systems that reason over live operational data and recommend what to do next.

"Every supply chain leader knows the scramble that starts when a part change is discovered during procurement, after the best options are already gone. We built Assure so that scrambling becomes the exception rather than the routine by catching exposure at the point where it starts and telling teams exactly what to do about it. Being recognized for it tells us the market is ready to stop reacting to risk and start getting ahead of it," said Andy Kohm, co-founder and CEO of SCIP.

Assure was one of two capabilities SCIP introduced in February, alongside Optimize, both built to help organizations improve decision quality, weigh tradeoffs, and continuously monitor operational and compliance risk. Earlier this year, the company also announced an integration with SiliconExpert to deliver synchronized, real-time component and supplier intelligence into operational workflows.

SCIP is deployed across enterprise environments in electronics, contract manufacturing, and medtech, where organizations face rising operational complexity, regulatory scrutiny, and supply chain volatility.

The SupplyTech Breakthrough Awards program honors innovation and leadership across supply chain and logistics technology. This year’s program received thousands of award nominations from companies around the world, spanning artificial intelligence, automation, risk management, logistics, and enterprise operations technologies. Other 2026 winners across categories included Boston Dynamics, Deposco, Shipwell, Werner Enterprises, Toyota Automated Logistics, and Yale Lift Truck Technologies.
