John McCauley Joins Vanta as Chief Financial Officer to Lead Next Chapter of Growth

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vanta, the leading Agentic Trust Platform, today announced that John McCauley has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer. McCauley will oversee finance and accounting, reporting directly to Vanta CEO Christina Cacioppo.

“John has scaled high-growth tech companies at every stage, and brings the financial and operational depth we need for our next chapter of growth,” said Christina Cacioppo, CEO, Vanta. “His judgment, his command of the numbers, and his understanding of what we're building make him an outstanding partner and addition to the leadership team.”

McCauley brings more than two decades of experience scaling high-growth software companies. He joins Vanta from Calendly, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and helped expand the business to more than 20 million users across 230+ countries. Previously, as Chief Financial Officer at Seismic, he helped grow annual revenue from approximately $100 million to more than $300 million, led IPO preparation efforts, and helped guide the company through its majority investment by Permira in 2021. Earlier, he was in finance leadership at ServiceNow, joining when revenue was approximately $100 million and helping support the company’s growth through its IPO and beyond to more than $800 million in revenue.

In addition to finance leadership, McCauley has overseen operational functions spanning IT, people, legal, corporate development and security and compliance, bringing a broad operational perspective to Vanta as organizations increasingly navigate AI adoption, security complexity, and rapidly evolving software environments.

“Vanta sits at the center of one of the most important shifts happening in software right now,” said McCauley. “As AI accelerates how companies build and deploy, the trust infrastructure underneath that has to keep pace. Vanta has built a category-defining platform with enormous market opportunity ahead, and I’m excited to join Christina and the team at such a pivotal moment in the company’s growth.”

McCauley earned his Master of Accountancy from San Diego State University and his bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of San Diego.

His appointment comes as Vanta surpasses $300 million in ARR, reaching the milestone just nine months after $200M, with growth accelerating each of the past four quarters. In May, the company was named to the CNBC Disruptor 50 list and recognized as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™ for Governance, Risk, and Compliance Platforms. Vanta also recently introduced Vanta Agent for Risk, which helps organizations identify, connect, and prioritize risk across internal and third-party systems through automated orchestration enabled by Vanta’s Trust Graph.
