Republic Bank Brings Community Together for Sixth Annual Juneteenth Celebration
Celebration highlights community connection while expanding access to critical health screenings
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This past Saturday, Republic Bank & Trust Company (“Republic” or the “Bank”) hosted its sixth annual Juneteenth celebration at the Republic Bank Foundation YMCA, bringing together community members for a day centered on wellness, education, and culture.
The event created a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere where attendees danced, explored local vendor booths, and enjoyed food from businesses proudly operated by Black and women entrepreneurs.
“At Republic Bank, Juneteenth is more than a holiday, it’s an opportunity to actively support and celebrate the Black community through a day filled with fun and fellowship,” said Logan Pichel, President and CEO of Republic Bank. “We are committed to creating and living a culture of inclusion. Through the work of our Business Resource Groups, including NIA, which hosts this event, we’re proud to create spaces where connection drives progress and impact lasts beyond a single day.”
Beyond the energy of the day, the gathering provided an opportunity to expand access to vital health services. In partnership with organizations including the American Heart Association, Kentucky African Americans Against Cancer (KAAAC), KARE Mobile, Donate Life Kentucky, and the Kentucky Health Organization, Republic offered free prostate, oral health, kidney function, and blood pressure screenings.
This work comes at a time when many Americans are falling behind on preventative care. According to the 2025 Aflac Wellness Matters Survey, 90% of Americans have delayed or avoided preventive care appointments that could identify serious illness. Routine screenings and annual wellness visits remain essential for early detection and effective management of chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. Without consistent preventive care, delayed diagnoses can lead to more complex treatment plans, higher costs, and poorer health outcomes.
“Celebrating Juneteenth as a Bank year after year is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Kenya Lacy, Associate Vice President, Inclusion and Diversity. “Moments like this allow us to connect more deeply with the community while helping extend critical resources to those who need them most.”
Through efforts like this, Republic continues to turn its commitment into action. It creates spaces that not only bring people together but also help communities move forward and thrive.
