CitroTech Expands Patent Portfolio, Leading the Market for GPS-Verified, AI-Enabled Deployment of Eco-Friendly Fire Retardants

Company's 31 issued patents include GPS tracking and network-connected databases that generate auditable, coordinate-stamped records of fire-retardant applications

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CitroTech (NYSE AM: CITR) today announced the continued expansion of its intellectual property (IP) portfolio, reinforcing its position as the only company in wildfire prevention whose platform combines GPS-enabled verification of field applications with a network-connected infrastructure that stores coordinates to generate auditable records of mitigation activity.

The company now holds 31 issued patents and 56 pending applications. At the core of this portfolio are GPS-enabled verification and geospatial tracking systems, wireless command-and-control technologies, and secure field documentation infrastructure that together enable real-time confirmation of where and when fire retardant treatments are applied, including across complex, geographically dispersed environments. These tracking and network capabilities are paired with CitroTech’s proprietary non-toxic fire inhibitor chemistries and application methods designed for use across landscapes, as well as wood, lumber, and other infrastructure materials.

As wildfire risk intensifies due to expanding wildland-urban interfaces, prolonged drought conditions, and increasingly severe fire seasons, municipalities, utilities, insurers, and public agencies are placing greater emphasis on prevention systems that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and deliver measurable mitigation activity alongside verifiable records of field operations.

“Wildfire mitigation is increasingly AI-enabled and data-driven, and verification is now a baseline requirement,” said Wes Bolsen, CEO of CitroTech. “Historically, systems capable of delivering tracked deployment at scale have relied on potentially harmful phosphate-based chemistries. Conversely, environmentally friendly solutions have not been paired with the robust GPS-tracking infrastructure the market is demanding. That tradeoff persisted for years, until we built CitroTech’s platform and IP portfolio to eliminate that constraint entirely.”

CitroTech’s platform directly addresses this structural gap by unifying its environmentally responsible fire inhibitor solutions with high-integrity, GPS-enabled verification systems. This approach enables precise confirmation of where and when mitigation treatments are applied. Its secure digital infrastructure stores that data in a network-connected database to generate coordinate-stamped, auditable records of field activity that support compliance reporting, insurance validation, operational oversight, and long-term resilience planning.

“CitroTech’s IP is the only portfolio that enables wildfire mitigation to be operationalized at scale with both environmental responsibility and real-time visibility into field deployment,” said Kevin Schaff, Global Head of Business Development and Partnerships at CitroTech. “For decision makers across public and private markets, it introduces consistency in how treatments are deployed and clarity in how those efforts are documented across diverse regions and landscapes.”

Beyond its tracking and documentation technologies, CitroTech's IP portfolio includes innovations in wildfire defense systems for structures, environmentally responsible fire inhibitor formulations, and field deployment technologies designed for municipal prevention programs, utility and infrastructure protection, residential defensible space initiatives, and environmentally sensitive treatment zones where traditional approaches may be limited by operational or regulatory constraints.

Together, these technologies position CitroTech at the center of a shift toward preventative, measurable wildfire resilience systems in which proof of application, stored as GPS coordinates in a network-connected database, becomes as important as the application itself.
