Verix Equity Partners Launches to Partner with Founder-Led Businesses Across the National Security Ecosystem

  • New firm to focus on lower mid-market buyout investments in North America
  • Target opportunities where it can leverage its investment playbook and operational capabilities to help businesses scale into enduring national security platforms that strengthen the industrial, technological, and infrastructure backbone of the United States and its allies.

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verix Equity Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm focused on national security, announced its formal launch today. Founded by Jeff Hart, former Partner at AE Industrial, and Sean Battle, a national security entrepreneur and operator, Verix was formed to enable founder-led businesses to scale in markets where technology, mission requirements, and national resilience are converging.

Having previously worked together to build numerous national security platforms, Hart and Battle bring a shared vision that combines private equity execution with operating perspective and deep sector relationships. The firm’s strategy is informed by a decade-long investment playbook, significant historical national security transaction experience, and a deep network of operators, executives, and industry partners across the national security ecosystem, including defense, government, space, and commercial technology markets.

“The national security landscape is changing quickly, and founder-led companies need more than just capital,” said Hart. “They need strategic partners that stand alongside them, navigating evolving customer priorities, ushering in new technology, managing talent demands, and executing their path to scale. Verix was built to meet that need.”

The launch comes as national security priorities are being reshaped by rising geopolitical complexity, supply chain vulnerabilities, artificial intelligence adoption, space proliferation, growing power constraints, and the need for more agile defense and government technology providers. Verix believes these trends are creating a long-term compelling opportunity across founder-owned businesses that have the technical capabilities, customer trust, and mission relevance to scale.

“Our approach is simple: preserve what made a founder’s business special, then add the resources, relationships, and operating support required to grow,” said Battle. “We want founders and management teams to feel like they are gaining a partner who understands their mission, respects their culture, and is willing to work side by side with them.”

By investing behind innovative companies serving key strategic national interests, Verix takes a thesis driven approach to push towards transformative outcomes, building next generation platforms that create value for the entire ecosystem: founders and management teams, the United States and its allies, commercial technology partners, and mission operators across the defense and intelligence communities.

Verix is supported by a growing group of investment and operating professionals with deep experience across private equity and national security. The firm expects to announce additional team members and initial platform activity in the coming months.
