Kristi Matus Elected to Unum Group Board of Directors

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Unum Group (NYSE: UNM) today announced that Kristi Matus was elected to its board of directors last week at the company’s 2026 annual meeting of shareholders. In addition, she was appointed to serve on the audit committee and the risk and finance committee of the board.

Matus brings more than 30 years of leadership and board experience across financial services, healthcare, and technology. Her background includes leading enterprise finance organizations, overseeing operations, government services, and administrative functions, and helping guide strategic planning and transformation initiatives for large, complex companies operating in highly regulated environments. She has held senior executive roles at USAA, Aetna, and athenahealth, and has served on several public company boards.

Matus holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. She is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
