Neal Gerber Eisenberg Welcomes Partner Brian P. Murray to Intellectual Property Practice

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Neal Gerber Eisenberg (NGE) is pleased to announce that Brian P. Murray has joined the firm as a partner in its Intellectual Property practice group, with a focus on life sciences.

Brian brings more than a decade of experience advising clients on complex intellectual property matters across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and advanced technology sectors. His practice spans both patent litigation and strategic counseling, with significant experience serving as lead counsel in federal courts on matters involving biotechnology, biosynthesis, pharmaceuticals, and engineering-driven technologies.

“Brian’s arrival strengthens our ability to support clients navigating increasingly complex scientific and commercial challenges in the life sciences sector,” said Managing Partner Robert G. Gerber. “He brings a thoughtful, practical approach to intellectual property strategy and litigation that aligns well with how we serve our clients.”

Brian has deep experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation and counsels clients on intellectual property matters at key stages of development, including pre-development planning, portfolio management, and commercialization considerations.

“Brian’s addition reflects our continued investment in the life sciences sector,” said Kevin A. O'Connor, incoming practice group chair of NGE’s Intellectual Property group. “His ability to manage discovery in technically intensive patent litigation and work effectively with complex scientific subject matter will add immediate value to our clients and strengthen our growing practice.”

Brian’s practice is informed by his background in chemical engineering and early career experience in pharmaceutical research, giving him a practical understanding of the scientific and commercial considerations facing his clients.

He earned his J.D., with a certificate in intellectual property law, from DePaul University College of Law and his B.S.E. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan. An active pro bono practitioner, Brian advises a charitable research grant foundation and assists Afghan refugees seeking humanitarian parole entry into the United States.
