CLEAResult Approaches One Trillion Kilowatt Hours of Customer Energy Savings, According to 2025 Sustainability Report

Annual report details $7.4 billion in lifetime customer bill savings, 17.1 million metric tons of CO₂ averted, and continued net-zero performance across Scope 1 and Scope 2 operations

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CLEAResult released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing the company’s progress in delivering large‑scale energy efficiency and energy transition programs that help utilities, governments, and communities manage rising demand, improve affordability, and strengthen grid reliability.

As electricity demand continues accelerating across North America – driven by electrification, economic growth, and increased system pressure – utilities and governments are increasingly focused on solutions that deliver measurable outcomes at scale. CLEAResult’s 2025 Sustainability Report outlines how the company’s programs and operations contributed to customer savings, emissions reductions, and continued progress across its sustainability commitments.

The report highlights performance across several key areas, including customer energy savings, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, and corporate sustainability practices. In 2025, CLEAResult’s program activity contributed to more than 67 billion kilowatt hours of lifetime energy savings, $7.4 billion in lifetime customer energy bill savings, averting 17.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) – including $122 million in lifetime energy bill savings for low-income customers.

This impact is equivalent to powering 6.3 million homes’ electricity for a year, removing approximately 4 million passenger vehicles from the road for one year, or the carbon sequestered by 17 million acres of U.S. forest.

CLEAResult also reports continued progress toward its operational emissions goals. The company maintained net‑zero emissions across Scope 1 and Scope 2, sustaining the milestone it first achieved ahead of schedule in 2024, while continuing to grow the business.

Scope 3 emissions increased by approximately 2.7% year over year, totaling 50,891 metric tons of CO₂e. This increase reflects continued operational scale, while reinforcing the importance of actively managing emissions across operations as the organization expands.

Since its founding in 2003, the company’s programs delivered 996 billion kilowatt hours of cumulative energy savings – placing CLEAResult 99.6% of the way to one trillion kilowatt hours saved.

“These results reflect what’s possible when sustainability commitments are paired with execution,” said Rich McBee, President and CEO of CLEAResult. “As demand on the grid grows, the energy transition will ultimately be judged by what it delivers for customers and communities – lower bills, reliable service, and measurable environmental progress.”

The report also details CLEAResult’s continued focus on its people, culture, and governance, including workforce engagement, safety performance, and community investment across its U.S. and Canadian operations.
