Seward & Kissel Adds Taha Khan as Head of Structured Credit Practice
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seward & Kissel LLP today announced that Taha Khan has joined the firm in New York as head of the structured credit practice, bringing strong experience advising asset managers, sponsors, and investment platforms on complex structured credit and securitization transactions across the private markets.
Khan’s practice focuses on sophisticated structured finance and securitization matters, including BSL CLOs, middle-market CLOs, direct lending vehicles, infrastructure debt CLOs, aircraft ABS, rated note feeders, CFOs, and fund structuring for collateral manager vehicles and captive CLO equity funds. He is widely recognized for his manager-side representation and for advising on innovative and first-of-their-kind deal structures.
“We are thrilled to welcome Taha to Seward & Kissel,” said Daniel Bresler, the firm’s managing partner. “He is a highly respected structured credit lawyer and a recognized leader in the CLO market, with deep experience advising asset managers and sponsors on some of the most complex and innovative transactions in the space.”
Khan regularly advises on hybrid transactions that combine fund structuring, securitization, and financing elements, as well as asset-based lending and warehouse facilities. His practice also includes aircraft and infrastructure ABS transactions, reflecting the expanding scope of private credit and structured finance activity across asset classes.
“Taha brings an exceptional understanding of how capital, structuring, and regulatory considerations intersect across the private markets,” said Gregg Bateman, head of Seward & Kissel’s global banking and corporate trust practice. “His experience advising on complex and bespoke transactions, particularly in the CLO and structured credit space, significantly enhances our ability to support asset managers and sponsors executing sophisticated financing strategies.”
“With its strong presence across the investment management and private credit landscape, Seward & Kissel is exceptionally well-positioned to support clients as structured credit continues to expand in importance,” said Khan. “I’m excited to help lead that effort and continue advising clients on innovative transaction structures.”
Khan received his LL.B. from Victoria University. He is admitted to practice in New York and is also qualified as an Australian legal practitioner.
Khan joins Seward & Kissel from Milbank LLP. His arrival builds on the firm’s strong start to 2026 marked by the additions of Jenna Rovira as co-chair of the Banking, Payments, and Fintech practice; a group from McDermott Will & Schulte that included Craig Warkol, Adriana Schwartz, and Hannah Thibideau; Investment Management partner Jack Habert; and John Benson and Christopher Belisle to co-lead the firm’s Maritime Finance practice.
