VeriGrain Launches AI Tool to Improve Yields and Reduce Fertilizer Costs
SASKATOON, Saskatchewan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--VeriGrain has launched a new nutrient analysis and recommendation platform that uses post-harvest grain samples to help farmers improve yields, reduce fertilizer costs, and increase returns. Based in Saskatoon, the company’s NUTRI-LOGIC™ system combines grain analysis with artificial intelligence to provide field-specific nutrient recommendations for the next growing season.
VeriGrain's NUTRI-LOGIC™ solves the challenge of getting reliable grain samples tied to specific fields by digitizing grain samples and linking them back to where they were grown.

The system can generate $20 to $50 per acre in additional revenue by helping farmers apply the right type and amount of nutrients at the right time.
VeriGrain’s NUTRI-LOGIC™ artificial intelligence-powered nutrient recommendation engine considers data from post-harvest grain sample analysis, as well as several other sources and provides nutrient recommendations before and at seeding. The goal is to minimize input costs and maximize crop yield, quality and return on investment. NUTRI-LOGIC™ helps agronomists provide the most accurate recommendations possible and farmers to make more precise fertilizer decisions for their next crop.
Post-harvest nutrient removal analysis from grain samples provides data for macro and micronutrient uptake, which is more detailed and up to 30% more accurate than the standardized nutrient removal estimates. While the nutrient removal data is meant to augment soil and tissue sample data, more often than not, the soil and tissue data is not available, making nutrient analysis the only available data source. NUTRI-LOGIC™ solves this problem.
VeriGrain CEO, Ken Jackson, says, “Nutrient removal analysis has been around for a long time. The challenge has been getting reliable samples tied to specific fields. VeriGrain’s NUTRI-LOGIC™ solves this by digitizing grain samples and linking them back to where they were grown.”
