IPSC Secures O&M Services Contract for 100 MW Renewable Wood-Fired Power Facility Combined with Carbon Capture and Sequestration

ALISO VIEJO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IHI Power Services Corp. (IPSC)—a leading provider of operations and maintenance (O&M), asset management, technical and compliance services for the power generation industry—has been selected by Strategic Biofuels to provide pre‑mobilization, mobilization and plant operations and maintenance services for its Louisiana Green Fuels (LGF) project. The project is a 100 MW, renewable, wood‑fired power facility integrated with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology and located in northeast Louisiana.

Located at the Port of Columbia in Caldwell Parish, the LGF project will be a highly technically advanced, first-of-its-kind facility that will deliver 75 MW of carbon-neutral electricity to the grid utilizing local forestry waste as the feedstock source.

“IPSC has deep experience supporting biomass and renewable facilities, and they will be able to execute the complex mobilization and long-term operational requirements our LGF project demands. We look forward to working together to build a strong operational foundation from day one,” said Dr. Paul Schubert, Strategic Biofuels' Chief Executive Officer.

IPSC and its predecessor company bring more than 40 years of experience to biomass, wood waste and renewable energy facilities. Additionally, the company will provide an array of pre-mobilization, mobilization and post-development services that will be vital to the project’s long-term success.
