Real Estate Veteran Robert “Bobby” Peddicord Named Executive Vice President of Continental Development Corporation

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Continental Development Corporation (CDC) today announced that real estate veteran Robert “Bobby” Peddicord has joined the company as Executive Vice President, overseeing CDC’s property management and leasing teams. Headquartered in El Segundo, California, CDC is one of the largest real estate developers in the South Bay with over 2 million square feet of office space along the Rosecrans Corridor and 500,000 square feet of medical office space in Torrance, as well as owning the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco, among other real estate assets.

Peddicord joins CDC from real estate giant CBRE, where he most recently served as Executive Managing Director of the firm’s South Bay office in Greater Los Angeles and previously led its Property Management business for the West Division, overseeing a portfolio of more than 300 million square feet. He brings nearly 40 years of leadership experience in the Los Angeles real estate market, including senior roles at Arden Realty, Inc., GE Capital/Arden Realty, and Julien J. Studley.

Over the course of his career, Peddicord has supported and led brokerage teams on behalf of companies such as TE Connectivity, Maersk, and Netflix, among others. On the property management side, he has helped secure and oversee marquee properties including Hollywood Park, Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Shopping Center, 444 South Flower and 777 Tower.

“Bobby is a consummate real estate professional, and I am privileged to welcome him to our team,” said Richard Lundquist, CEO of Continental Development Corporation. “Bobby brings a depth of experience on both sides of the table – representing tenants as well as owners. It’s a bonus that he also has an intimate understanding of property management. His industry connections throughout Los Angeles and the West will prove invaluable as we continue to enhance and strengthen our portfolio and serve our tenants, partners, and communities.”

Led by Lundquist, CDC has developed more than 5 million square feet of commercial space and continues to expand and reimagine landmark mixed-use properties across Southern California, including Continental Park, widely regarded as one of the largest mixed-use office parks in Los Angeles County. Recent highlights include major leases, commercial developments, and land sales involving Mattel, KPMG, the World Surf League, the Los Angeles Chargers’ headquarters and training facility, and the future Los Angeles Sparks headquarters and training center.

“Continental has built an exceptional reputation in one of the most dynamic markets in the country,” said Peddicord. “I have long respected Richard Lundquist’s humble, hard-working style and especially his commitment to community and philanthropy. Richard and Continental nailed it on the return to office, from the amenity-rich environments with a variety of stores and restaurants within walking distance to the significant investment in the common spaces of each building. I am excited to join the team and help strengthen tenant relationships and create value across the company’s Class A properties.”

During his tenure at Arden Realty, then a publicly traded real estate firm on the New York Stock Exchange that was later acquired by GE Capital for $4.8 billion, Peddicord was a part of the executive leadership team that was instrumental in the growth of Arden’s portfolio from 4.2 million square feet to 18.5 million square feet over a six-year period.

“There couldn’t be a more experienced and better liked leader than Bobby Peddicord to oversee all leasing and property management,” said Dick Ziman, co-founder and CEO of NYSE Arden Realty and co-founder of NYSE Rexford Industrial Realty. “He not only brings years of successful deal making and management, but is a great team player who, because of his depth of knowledge of the marketplace, knows so well how to get deals done the way they should.”
