Samsara Launches the Samsara Driver Cup to Celebrate Top Professional Drivers in the U.S.

Competition uses performance data across safety, compliance, and efficiency to identify and recognize top drivers

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Samsara Inc. ("Samsara") (NYSE: IOT), the pioneer of the Connected Operations® Platform, today announced the Samsara Driver Cup, a nationwide competition that uses real-world driving data to find and reward top professional drivers in the U.S.

“Consistent, safe operations demand a substantial amount of skill. There are great drivers everywhere, and we take pride in how we do our jobs,” said Ken Blodgett, Driver at Bellavance Trucking. “Getting recognized as one of the top drivers in the country? This requires a 360-degree focus on the road throughout the workday. I’m excited to see who makes the cut.”

Eligible drivers will be scored and rewarded across three categories, each recognizing a different dimension of professional excellence:

  • Safety Consistency Champion: The most consistently safe drivers across Samsara’s platform, scored by factors like lack of speeding and mobile phone usage
  • Hours of Service (HOS) Compliance Champion: Drivers with the best HOS compliance records across Samsara’s platform, scored by lowest violation-to-driving-time ratio
  • Efficiency Champion: The most fuel-efficient drivers across Samsara’s platform, scored by estimated fuel saved vs. typical use for that vehicle type

How the Samsara Driver Cup works

  • Compete: Hundreds of thousands of eligible drivers will be entered. The competition runs May 18 – August 15 across three legs, giving drivers multiple chances to win.
  • Score: Drivers are scored automatically—no extra work is required from drivers to participate. Scoring for each category accounts for factors like route type and shift length, so every driver competes on a level playing field.
  • Win: Champions are selected based on performance data across safety, compliance, and efficiency. Results are certified by the Samsara Driver Cup Certification Committee, and by each enrolled organization. The top 1% of performers earn their title and can receive prizes up to $1,000.*

The Samsara Driver Cup reflects the company’s dedication to improving the driver experience—creating better engagement, stronger safety cultures, and improved outcomes across fleets. Made possible by Samsara's comprehensive AI platform, the single view of real-world performance data is foundational to the rankings, helping make it one of the most fair and credible competitions in the industry.

"Professional drivers today are part operator, part engineer, managing sophisticated machines with deep expertise and split-second judgment," said Meagen Eisenberg, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsara. "The Samsara Driver Cup gives drivers the recognition they deserve and names those setting a standard of excellence.”
