Data Meets the Deep End: Sigma Named Official AI-Powered Business Intelligence Platform of USA Swimming

The national governing body strengthens its data capabilities to better support clubs and coaches

SAN FRANCISCO & COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sigma, a leader in AI applications and agentic analytics for business, and USA Swimming, the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States, today announced a multi-year partnership naming Sigma the Official AI-Powered Business Intelligence Platform of USA Swimming.

“USA Swimming's coaches make thousands of decisions every year that shape athletes' careers. Sigma gives them the data to back every one of those decisions, and with the next Games on home soil, there's no more important time to get it right."

Sigma will be embedded as a working product across USA Swimming's 380,000-member organization, providing accessible analytics tools to more than 20,000 coaches and club leaders to support decision-making, program development, and operational performance.

"We've been the most dominant swimming nation in the world for decades, and continuing that success requires evolving how we support our coaches and clubs,” said Jacob Grosser, Chief Operating Officer of USA Swimming. “Sigma gives our coaches and club leaders better access to data so they can make more informed decisions, evaluate their programs, and focus their time on developing athletes."

USA Swimming selected Sigma to enhance how data is accessed and used across the organization. The platform will provide self-service analytics and AI-powered data workflows to coaches and clubs, enabling them to evaluate performance trends, manage operations more effectively, and support long-term athlete development at the local level.

“USA Swimming's coaches make thousands of decisions every year that shape athletes' careers. Sigma gives them the data to back every one of those decisions, and with the next Games on home soil, there's no more important time to get it right,” said Mike Palmer, Sigma CEO.

With the 2028 Olympic Games heading to Los Angeles, both organizations are pointed in the same direction: the United States solidifying itself as the most decorated swimming nation in Olympic history, with a data infrastructure built to match that legacy.
