Westinghouse Appoints Gaby Poirier to Lead Global Operating Plants Business

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Westinghouse Electric Company announced the appointment of Gaby Poirier as President of its Global Operating Plants business unit.

In this position, Mr. Poirier will be accountable for the delivery of Westinghouse’s core products and services to the global fleet of operating nuclear plants, spanning nuclear fuel, engineered solutions, instrumentation & controls systems, parts and outage & maintenance services. He will also lead the strategic deployment of Westinghouse’s capital investment projects in support of the company’s growth portfolio.

Mr. Poirier comes to Westinghouse from global aluminum producer Alcoa, where he oversaw its North American operations, led Global Transformation and served as President of Alcoa Canada. Previously, he spent 20 years with global metals and mining company Rio Tinto – serving in leadership roles that developed his deep operational, manufacturing and project execution expertise across diverse global, technical businesses.

He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke and an MBA in Finance from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Mr. Poirier is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has also completed the executive education General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
